I'm a crusty old libertarian of the type that sees left and right as meaningless distinctions. I've arrived at the point where I only care about whether someone believes in individual rights or not. Harris isn't great in that respect, but Trump is a nightmare. He never actually says anything about liberty, aside from using scare tactics about the libs taking away guns and being commies. Beyond that, he doesn't even pretend to be pro-freedom and it's infuriating to me to see supposedly libertarian-leaning people drink the Trump kool aid. God help me, there's a part of this that kind of appeals to me. If you had told me ten years ago that there was going to be a presidential candidate who told the mainstream media to go fuck themselves and rallied the populace without any help from the establishment, I would have been so excited about the prospect.

The worst part of this is that there are lots of people in America who have legitimate gripes and aren't being listened to and it would have been great to have a real populist candidate address those concerns.
