The voice cast for the first two games was exceptional too. Minus whatever the fuck Alec Neuman was trying to do in the finale.

Seriously, Adam Howden, Claudia Black, Steve Valentine, Deborah Moore, Simon Templeman, Kath Sousie, Jean Gilpin, Nico Lennon, Kate Mulgrew, etc. All brought their A-game. Some of them returned for Inquisition and were still fantastic. God knows what they sound like here but judging from the clips we know the voice direction was poor. Very poor.
Bioware used to be the king of voice acting in video games.
Their games used to be hard carried by competent writing and good voice work.

I really dislike that Qunari - male face and female voice actor is very off-putting. Have to echo other posters here - don't buy this game. Even if it's dirt cheap or you pirated it, do you really want to give up 60-100 hours of your life playing something you wont really enjoy? Just do what I'll do - eye roll at clips online and sate my lingering OCD to know what happens by reading spoilers from others. I'll have a better life for it.

Also, is it true that the game has a magic mirror in it which will show a trans character himself as a woman?

DA2 definitely had its moments, and it's probably the best precedent for putting so much focus on companions in a Dragon Age game. There's an especially pungent example -- probably little-seen, given how big an asshole you have to be to do it -- where you can actually sell Fenris back to the Tevinter mage from whom he's been fleeing the entire game. He doesn't even protest, just reverts to his formerly broken self and acquiesces. Naturally, this gets major rivalry with everyone else ...

... except Anders, who actually approves. That's how much those two hate each other.

You will never see anything remotely approaching this scenario in a BioWare game again.
Yeah, that game is underrated in that regard. While no one comes to blows, some companions absolutely detest the other, and there is no compromise.

Having Merrill in the company of Fenris is brutal, double if you have Anders... especially in her final companion quest. Those three really don't like each other, and their "camaraderie" is toxic, even borderline abusive.

I actually develop a newfound liking for Sebastian when I put him with Anders more often because Anders detests him loudly and vocally and the feeling is mutual, but Sebastian trolls Anders like a pro. Knew there is still some of that rakehell from his youth in him.

Aveline and Anders are not going to be friends anytime too... come to think of it, Anders and everyone are never going to be friends. Even my Hawke can't stand the sight of him by the end of that game.

It is actually a relief when Aveline and Isabela develops an unlikely friendship and mutual respect that feels real after all the barbs they throw at one another in the first act!

In that regard, Dragon Age 2 is a melodrama of unlikely people that congregate around Hawke and Varric, with the two of them holding them together even when they are squabbling and backstabbing one another. Regardless of how the game turns out, there is a kind of Shakespearean tragedy to the whole setup, as it all ends with Hawke losing everything and the others dissolving the "gang" going separate ways - not sure what they have won in the end despite all their efforts.

Guess which trans-lolcow worked on Dragon Age Veilguard to make it ultra woke?

for all it's faults SWTOR is actually a really fun and well written game, i'd say Imperial Agent is the second best storyline behind Sith Inquisitor.
It's hard to think of fauts with SWTOR at launch other than it being the final nail in Star Wars Galaxies coffin and not being Kotor 3.

My gripes with it came later as they dropped class storylines and we got that dreadful Zakuul bullshit.

Zakuul was Swtors equivalent to Warcrafts Zovaal. The letter Z is cursed

I don't know what the mirror shows, but there is a mirror in the game that you can go to in order to designate your character as "trans," which then prompts you to expound upon your character's deep gender-feels and transition status, which then unlocks special bonus dialogues with many characters. Needless to say, this kind of treatment isn't given to literally any other group - you don't get to talk to the mirror about your feelings about your race, your sex, your sexuality, or any of that. Only the trans shit matters at all, because this game was made by trannies, for trannies.

I'm so disappointed, man. I'm a huge Dragon Age fan and so is my partner. We'll be playing the game regardless and hoping that the tranny reviewers (who, allegedly, only had to contact Bioware and go "I'm trans gimme free advance game!" to get a copy) are overhyping the gender bullshit and it can be played by normal people too, but my hopes keep constantly being dashed.

Honestly, I'm still pissed as hell they went backwards in terms of "inclusivity" since Inquisition. Inquisition had straight characters, bi characters, gay and lesbian characters, and trans characters - it literally had the whole LGBT and respected heteros enough to have actually straight characters too. Veilguard's creators are so incredibly homophobic that they deleted gay and lesbian people from the world of Dragon Age and made everyone nebulously "pansexual". And if you think I hate that a lot, let me tell you how it feels as a reasonably sane lesbian gamer to hear the Dragon Age fandom talk about how "inclusive" Veilguard is and how "representative" they are of "the LGBTQ+ community." 🤬

Did he just deadname Trick Weekes? Some gratitude!
I literally found out Patrick Weekes had changed his name this week and I can't get over having seen at least 3+ people who worked on Veilguard "deadname" him since. Absolutely hilarious.

Speaking of "Trick" - seriously, did he intentionally change his name to make himself sound like a leprechaun? - who else noticed that the obvious dev favorite of the game is a chick who troons out to "enby" in the middle of the game, written by Weekes who trooned out to "enby" in the middle of the production cycle of this game... 😂

God he's such a fucking creep though. Just like every other fetishist weirdo trans-identified man with a wife and kids at home.

I'd ask if there's anything we can do to persuade you not to invest your time in this, but if everything the developers appear to have done to ruin this doesn't dissuade you I doubt there's anything I can. I guess I just have to wish you whatever joy you can squeeze out of it. We can't find you an Owlcat game you haven't played yet? I hear they've nearly got all of the bugs out of Rogue Trader now...

Oh, feck. Well I can only imagine how much a message of 'be open to sexual offers from both sexes' is going to jibe with a lesbian of all demographics. At least gay dudes don't have to fear being pressured for sex by straight women. Good luck, and I mean that honestly. This game is looking like a shit show but for lesbians more than most!

Could you romance Leliana and Morrigan as a female warden? I'm fairly sure you could Leliana, not sure about Morrigan. The ending plan with Morrigan must have had an extra twist of the knife if so.

If Weeky was following the proud footsteps of every non-binary wild-colored mutant out there, his wife is perfectly happy to let him write Qunari porn while she gets railed by her bull of the month.
I have seen shit but I am not sure I wanted to have such a scene in my mind. Ah bravo :cryblood:

Ironically, with the fact some eluvian can give you magic AIDS(aka the Blight), there is a good chance Rook is just fucked after using this mirror. :smug:

Leliana and Zevran were the bisexual romances, Morrigan and Alistair where the straight romances.

Though I still see a lot of people cope-shipping their Wardens in gay relationships with both Morrigan, and Alistair, despite their plot hooks needing both of them to be straight. It'd be funny if it wasn't pathetic.

If you can’t be stopped from playing can you at least do the right thing and either pirate it or if you’re on console pick it up second hand to keep your hard earned away from BioWare?
