The Taash stuff is so obnoxiously on the nose that it reads like a parody of the Snowflake Troon stories we've been forced to endure for years. Did no one at BioWare look at this and say, "Hold on, this is too broad, we need some subtlety if we're going to do this"?
My question is why do these people think being an obnoxious faggot is interesting to anyone at all (other than other obnoxious faggots)

Did no one at BioWare look at this and say, "Hold on, this is too broad, we need some subtlety if we're going to do this"? Apparently not. I'd guess any dissenting voices were canned or walked away from this mess years ago.

Man, I just wanted to fight some ancient elven gods and unravel the mysteries of the Black City. Instead it's just hours of poorly written, poorly acted agitprop. RIP, Thedas.

EDIT: Listening in the background and I just got to Taash's mother. What the fuck happened to the voice acting at BioWare?! This is beyond atrocious. The VA's actress is vaguely familiar, so I'm not even sure if it's bad acting or bad direction.

Also, I cannot believe how much time is devoted to fucking pronouns. This is madness. Is this meant for anyone besides broke-brained troons?
ResetEra maybe?
But that would include broke-brained troons.

It is difficult to fathom that a project worth hundreds of millions is going for issues so incredibly alien and unappealing to a mass audience.
If this sells even remotely well, it will only be because of the brand-name.

"Hold on, this is too broad, we need some subtlety if we're going to do this"?
Tumblr and it's consequences have been a disaster for writing rooms.
The days of subtlety and reading between the lines in most Western writing rooms is gone. These people have grown up in their little sheltered circles and shun anyone that doesn't pass their sniff test. There is no need to be subtle because they are not open minded enough to be creative or able to write from other perspectives. So, they write as if they are preaching to the choir and damn anyone that disagrees or finds it to be awful.

A few thoughts about this.
  • If it's real, keep in mind that this differs from anything "game journo" reviewers got. Influencers (Any non-legacy media journos) get some really weird agreements, though mostly from foreign companies like Hoyoverse and the Wukong people.
  • It seems to have originated from this thread: https://arch.b4k.co/v/thread/693263779/#693266504
  • Mentioning two parties is weird, but Matty seems to work with Colin Moriarty / CLS. He looks like a frequent podcast guest, and was announced to have joined in some capacity in this tweet from 2020. Matty's the guy who got busted for leaking the shit some retard was posting on Twitter. People figured it was him from the customized player character.
I'm sure we'll get someone corroborating if it's legit soon enough, especially if the game flops hard enough for the YouTube vultures to start circling it for content. If this was legit, I'm sure this isn't the entirety of the documents he had to sign.

I hope somebody archived the videos. EA is now on the hunt.

FUCK, it is gone indeed. I can still see my comment in my historic but not much more.

I do not even remember the name of the channel. Maybe the owner is going to repost something or post a community note about it.

The people responsible for such copyright claims are a bunch of thin-skinned retarded loosers.

That "leaked" document looks fake as hell. That's an old-timey typeface (the one used by LaTeX by default) that nobody uses anymore outside academia, and even then it's only used by people who can't figure out how to change it.

Also funny to see EA going so apeshit over Youtube videos. You know it's bad when they're pulling that shit. Favorable (hype-compatible) leaks never get the axe.

Just do what I'll do - eye roll at clips online and sate my lingering OCD to know what happens by reading spoilers from others. I'll have a better life for it.
The game is apparently highly linear with zero choice and consequence anyway. Watching a YouTube playthrough must functionally be the same thing.

I believe it. This sounds exactly like something they would mandate. Very funny that despite following all these rules Matty and Shill Up still shat all over it.
don't understand trans ideology.
It's not meant to be understood, it's meant to be listened to and believed lock-step. It's about maintaining control and belief in absurdity. Dance monkey dance, but don't ask why.
Karlach has a pretty face, a sweet and bubbly personality, and is very kind and supportive.
Ah, but you see, this is them doing Karlach RIGHT this time. We fixed her by making her gender special and ugly so those filthy fucking Chuds stop wanting to fuck her!

This is Karlach as she was always MEANT TO BE.

So what happens to Solas? That's the only thing i care to know about at this point

Im starting to get the new qunari redesign now, bioware cucks probably wanted to have tieflings in dragon age, because they are quite a popular fantasy race, and instead of adding a new race of half demons beings connected to the fade they just made qunaris into shitty tieflings.
Because we cant have a new fantasy race, we have to ruin the old one from previous games you see.

Im actually interested with how DAO developers would have handled a tiefling like race, considering what they did to make the elfs in their games original from other IPs. but we will never know will we?

I also rather suspect that qunari look the way they look now as a direct response to the popularity of tieflings in Baldur's Gate 3. In fact, I am almost certain that that's what happened.

4e was the first edition to include tiefling as a default world race (they were exotic race from outerplanes otherwise). and the lore was as such: an old and proud human empire dealth with powers that be for their survival/victory adn were changed forever by this bargain. they/ their childeren and their childerens childeren became tieflings from now on. like you could implement this to dragon age especially after inquisition and how tavinter was in cohorts with corypheus. no one would even notice the changes because rpg community is like a headless chicken. tieflings in da could have really worked yet they destroyed everything.

However, I have to disagree that tieflings in Dragon Age would have worked.

Demons in the Dragon Age setting are not the stereotypical 'pointy beards, forked tails and horns' Mephistopheles types. Demons in Dragon Age look like this:

And, to be honest, introducing a new race, this late in the series, that just so happen to look and behave exactly like this other race from this other game with the serial numbers filed off, grafting them onto the world with no regard to the established canon that came before, would look even more like shallow trend-chasing than retrofitting the qunari to physically resemble them does.

Of course, in an ideal world, developers would have faith in the integrity of their settings and not feel the need to try and chop and change them to copy the flavour of the month and attract something else's audience, but then, if we're talking about an ideal world, this game probably wouldn't have been made in the first place.

i wa not meanin horned red race, i was talking about if they wanted to add a new race with supernatural connectins, here we have x.
it might have been shitty but it was the only time this could have been pulled out in a more accaptable means.

The irony is, of course, that people would have probably much preferred to play as Qunari who look more in line with DA2-Inquisition design wise. Back during DA2 I really wished Hawke was able to be a different race, because the Qunari in that game looked fantastic and weird.
