How's this for pattern recognition: an event happens that is legitimately fucked up. Then the usual suspects start blaming Jews and what could be a productive discussion or investigation into the event gets turned into bog-standard Jewish conspiracy theories. The event gets swept under the rug because the antisemitic conspiracy theories poisoned the well entirely and anyone who talks about it is disregarded.

TBH the Republicans should stay relatively silent on the abortion issue federally since the way it is worded is a losing proposition (at least to me), and it seems to be a great big portion of single issue voters on that (more so than guns/taxes). Why bother pissing off 50% of the electorate when they can push the "we're against troons raping your kids/you in womens restrooms and BTFO women in women's sports" argument.

Let the state reps deal with the abortion issue, state legislatures are overwhelmingly GOP.

Republican messaging on abortion in general is a lot more discrete and quiet in this election then the 2022 mid-terms. Trump himself says it will be left up to the states and Harris wants a nationwide abortion law.

Here's what people need to understand about early voting. In almost all cases it's democrat heavy. Republicans vote much more on election day. What is happening is a bunch of low propensity/Trump only voters voted early, to the point where even if voter day turnout is lower than previous years, it's still very good for Trump.

In 2022 in PA Oz won election day votes by 11 points. Trump won it in 2020 by 30 points. Add to it the early voting for democrats for their "firewall" is way down, in PA it's something like 700,000 less. These blue votes are not going to show up on election day. Just keep voting, take the day off work to vote and get your parents and family to vote, run it up so we can get an answer Tuesday night.

The roadblocks are myriad: not just the DNC machine but also uniparty/rinos, power hungry folks that don't want things to change even at the local level, people fighting to keep others from cleaning house, etc. Saying nothing has been done dismisses the work that has been done, often by people who are concerned for our country, hate the drama and confrontation of politics, and are appalled at how deep and wide it goes but are still giving up their time and resources to make improvements. "Republicans doing nothing" is no longer a truism. Then again, the Republican Party is different now.

The fact people are even noticing and reporting on it is huge. It will take longer than a four year cycle to fix this.

I'd honestly be in favor of a corwin amendment type law on federal abortion legislation (except maybe ban or explicit approval of interstate abortions, as that becomes a federal domain issue).
Ironically if that passes then we might get a repeat of the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 leading to a hot civil war.
