Yep. I remember reading in this thread and someone broke does his HS transcript by various subject area and he had a 1.0/D or something like that in science, which means he has a substantially below average understanding of science. When one considers the nature of the "average" in the US, that is just incredibly pathetic. It also explains why he can only write "sci-fi" because the science is all made up, it doesn't have to make sense, so he can get away with not understanding any of it. He also had something like a 1.6/C- in English indicating a below average understanding/usage of the English language. Again, how someone who writes can have a C- HS average in English, with English being his first language, is beyond me. It does help explain many of the errors, both in science and English, that others have pointed out in his novels.

I think part of why Fatrick’s sci-fi writer persona rubs so many people the wrong way is that it is very clear Fatrick has nothing but contempt for science. It solely exists as a vehicle for his true love: politics, which explains why he has fallen into pseudo-intellectual leftism. The fact that his own shorty personality further alienated him from people who should be in his camp is the Norm McDonald-style punchline on top of punchline that keeps Fatrick entertaining.
