Seems to have reached it's peak for now and is falling slowly:

Since the west coast is still at work, and this is prime east coast commute home/dinner time, I wouldn't expect this to be the peak of the day.

Lol the only reason they did the stinger was to ape marvel and make dragon age a perpetual """franchise""" to justify further EA investment. They tried this with Andromeda and it failed for mass effect. Publishers don't want a game they want an ip, or a setting like Warhammer 40k. they want something they can milk every year. The last thing they want is to have a cleanly ended story since how do you keep making money after it ends?

Marvel pioneered this but they fucked it with endgame being too close to an actual ending. We can safely say that the original dragon age's storyline ended.

Anything else is a desperate attempt to leave hooks for a sequel. In this case they already pulled that shit with the elven gods being the mysterious cabal in the first three games! Lol at them trying

People dooming in the thread are genuinely retarded. This is the same shit that hit the Last of us 2, Halo infinite, Starfield and every other highly anticipated triple A game with a built in fanbase. It will be mildly successful in the short term off the brand alone, however it will lead to long term losses due to the poor quality of the product which will negatively impact the brand.

Not to mention it took them 11 fucking years to pinch this turd. Which means it has to do BG3 levels of well to make its money back, let alone create profit. And lets be real, no way in hell is that happening.

Fellow niggers, chill.
You're beginning to sound like some post-election faggots with the cope and salt.
This is what happens when you get too much into the gaming culture war and start to see Tortanics everywhere.
We still don't know if that number is an indicator of success and while it would've been funny to see Concord numbers, the power of the brand name and heavy shilling did some work. Other users in this thread predicted this.

Personally, I could give less of a fuck if they make 10 more Troonguard, with even more tranny garbage. I set them on Ignore and move on with my day, because I can only control what I myself play.
So, just a reminder, let's focus on the funny where we can get it, because I don't want your posts to feature into some "KF has a meltdown over Troonguard success" jewtuber's grifting video.
This. Looking at Steam numbers TODAY doesn’t cover it.

Schreier's victory lap. Can't wait for when he's forced to write about the studio shutting down.
The absolute state of gaming "journalism" when the number one most prestigious guy pretends to be a retard who doesn't understand the difference between revenue and profit. This is like gloating that, while shitting on its fans, Joker 2 'made' 200 million dollars and ignoring that it also lost 200 million dollars in the final accounting. Veilguard needs to offset its development cost and make a further profit in the order of tens of millions of dollars to even remotely be considered a success that justified a massive development time and effort from Bioware.

There was always going to be five games. I’m honestly more curious if they’ll ever actually end the franchise.

Whatever one may say about ME3’s endings. They conclusively ended commander shepherd’s story and Mass effect as a setting. Rather than setting up endless sequel bait.

Let’s say they make a fifth game and you fight the last group of secret evil gods out there. (Or whatever), then what? Where does the story go?

Eventually they’re going to run out of things in the lore Bible if they re still using it.

Regardless even if this game is successful, we probably won’t see a dA5 for a long time. ME4 is coming out in the late 2020s if at all.

You say that, but the one ending makes it not so definitive as to what Shepard's fate actually is. The teaser for ME4 also leaves it less than settled.

Zombi Shepard. Xiro of the They/Them Citadel, returning again to spread gender awareness!

Bioware banned Asmongold on Reddit.
I'm just in awe of how much of a bleeding front hole Bioware is.

Also on a side note, I was driving home listening to conservative talk radio (say what you will) and I heard the host play the push ups clip. This game is so horrendously bad political pundits are going out of their way to shit on it.

The game is settling around 70k for now which is unimpressive considering this is a AAA project.

It's only barely beating Mass Effect Legendary Edition's peak, and that's a compilation rerelease, and it's never even breaching Starfield's 330k peak (and we know how quickly that game collapsed into nothing).

Not blowing up on the launchpad like Concord is not an achievement, and I really doubt a AAA game from an established IP would disappear from notice the same way Dustborn did.

If BioWare get gutted by EA in the next few years then may be this hypothetical 5th entry will be a novel and not a game.

A random moment from the game. I do not know who is this lady.

I mentioned the weird player count increases before, but I will once again point out that it's odd that the player count stagnated at around 70,250 and has fluctuated between that and 70,255 for about 30 to 40 minutes.

The amount of reviews are also odd. I'm sure there's filters in place to prevent review spam, but surly since the game's release there should be over 1000. With both sides of the culture war losing their minds about this game, surly you would expect more.

they also retconned the fuck out of it with the leviathan DLC

All this sperging over DA's numbers on day 1 and I have to ask ... what about non-Steam players? You don't need Steam to play it on PC, just as you don't need Steam to play Mass Effect. All you need is EA's download client, Origin. Is anyone running those numbers?

The leviathan dlc exists to explain the organic vs synthetic/starchild reveal. Not retcon the ending.

It serves to justify it.

people who finished me3 on release got different endings from people who played it with the DLC. they retconned a bunch of stuff.

the original ending of ME3 was a complete shitshow and there was a lot of people shitting their pants at how badly executed it was. people were mad that all the buildup of "your choices matter" turned out to basically be "which one of 3 buttons do you press" (there was never going to be a satisfactory ending to ME3 unless they took another 5 years in development)

i cant remember the details so it may not have specifically been the leviathan DLC, but i do remember the exposition dump of leviathan retconned some of the lore at least

I'm fully convinced that one of the reasons I don't hate ME3 is that by the time I played it the only DLC they hadn't released was Citadel. I don't blame people who got the original ending plus no Leviathan DLC who decided the whole thing was a disaster. The base ending is legit awful.

The vast majority of PC gamers will be using Steam in a case like this (i.e. when a game isn't exclusive to another storefront). It's not really relevant to consider the alternatives as adding more than a tiny fraction to the ~70k we're seeing. The more important question is how console sales are looking, but there's not transparent data there. Xbox and Playstation will have top selling lists, but they're not necessarily numerically based (they can be hand selected the same as Amazon or NYT best sellers list). Looking at the number of people who achieved the earliest trophy in a game can be indicative, but that's about all I'm aware of.

I think most players that bought where unaware of the new heights of woke cringe it reaches.
most of them are normalfags who just want a new BG3 ersatz for their portion of fantasy drama/romance.

Schreier is extremely dishonest if he tries to sell this as evidence that woke sells well.
schreier is a sleazy opportunist pos who knows how the game works. that's why he sits on the troublesome blizzard info but otherwise jerks himself raw being an "industry insider". he knows all to well what people are talking about when they mention woke, but of course he's smart enough to not take the bait and instead deflects hard.

you can also bet once inevitably the windows shifts again, he'll all be too eager to talk about the troublesome identity politics affecting games once there is no danger anymore and milk this era with books and other "tell-alls".

no spine, no integrity.

the endings are the same, yeah the gates aren't totally fucked anymore because they removed the debris flying around...
the only thing they did is add more dialog to say goodbye to your waifu/companions before going right back to the 3 colors. even the star-child ending was in the original if you just wait long enough.
