The bit I don't understand is them moving into Nick's house. Even if swinging was a proposition they found attractive, why did they go so totally all in that they surrendered all personal space and all couple space? And whose idea was that?
The information we have suggests it probably started as Aaron and April being guests at their house on a weekend. The whole swinger thing makes staying overnight somewhat normal to begin with. But quickly became partying with Nick and Kayla every weekend.
I believe that according to Aaron, the idea of him purchasing Nick's other house first came up in either February or March. That indicates whose idea going all-in it was.
The next big step was both couples spending an entire degenerate week together at some point in march while Nick's parents had the kids. I think that was a real turning point as well. Nick had reached a point where he was more and more neglecting to do regular streaming to keep the partying up.
Aaron's own account was that as things went on, he was having severe doubts about the gradual surrender of his personal space. That he didn't have time for his other friends anymore. That partying so much was distracting him from other responsibilities.
Then it a reached a point where Kayla started talking to Aaron about how they should move there and how they could jointly raise all the kids. Then NIck and April gradually increased the pressure on Aaron to buy the house. Aaron has said that parts of the concern over that was that his kids didn't want to move and that he was slightly worried about having them around the open drug use. Worried in terms of his ex-wife and custody issues.
I think for Nick, with the collapse of his streaming career, getting new money in from somewhere was becoming a critical issue. He needed the money from selling the house to continue the constant partying.
We kind of know the events associated with the breaking point. One night when Aaron and April are at the house, April goes home. She gets her things and announces that she is moving in and not going back. That Aaron has to buy the house to keep with her at all. Then Nick and company create the "pawverbs" crisis with Kayla to put even more pressure on Aaron from a different direction.
But it doesn't work and at that point its really over.
The really interesting thing about all this looking back is how compressed the timeline for everything was. Everything from the couples getting seriously together to April leaving Aaron happened over about three months.
