Part of me hopes he's this reckless as he's pissed off CPS about not sticking to the reunification plan, so has decided "fuck it". The other part of me hopes this will piss off CPS, because you cannot turn this level of instability on or off on a dime, so if the kids are near him in any capacity, they will be suffering.
The only thing I can think of is when a narcissist is this dopamine and attention starved - after being such a big YT star! - any attention feels better than no attention. Because without the internet making him feel "special", he's just another junkie parent, with no job, who lost their kids. Nick is the most confusing person I've seen in a while and I have no idea how he decides to do what he does anymore. I don't even think the drugs are entirely to blame, there's something really warped about his way of thinking. Someone like Ralph does stupid shit all the time too but I can always guess at what went through his pig brain before he does something.
