I know all of your names and addresses, and I will be arriving to each doomposter's house with a ruler.

Doomposters just need a big (bear) hug and a reassuring pep talk - we can love them better!

What TV/Youtube/Alt media of choice will people be using to see results come in on Tuesday Night?

I have high hopes that Donny will pull a W on Tuesday. It's amazing that before the July debate and him getting shot the gop and Republicans were considered getting blasted but now over the past 4 months it's been nothing but felt for the democrats with Kamablah's embarrassing antics and astroturfing. (Although NY and NJ going red is a distant dream imo.)

You have the same join date as me!

The joy is only beginning, friend.

Still on the fence about NJ. I really, really wouldn't put it past certain places to pull a 2020 redux.
VA has a better chance of flipping red in the electoral race than Jersey does, and I take no joy from saying that as a resident Jerseyite myself. Both gubernatorial races happened less than a year after Biden assumed office and were decided on the slimmest of margins. I think Murphy beat out Ciattarelli by just shy of 10,000 votes; it really was that close (and I'm still upset about it, three years later). This all may have happened on the slow tail-end of the pandemic too, but I don't think Democrats would expend any resources in trying to fortify elections in New Jersey because it's all but accepted that the majority of the state will vote a safe straight blue ticket.

To its credit, there are some pretty red parts of Jersey well within proximity of New York City. Monmouth, and a sizeable chunk of suburban Essex and to a lesser extent, Union Counties are more avowedly pro-Trump if yard signs are anything to go off. The state is more purple than people realize, but never enough that most offices held by Democrats are in danger of being flipped. Jersey has very status-quo dems running the place, as opposed to places like Oregon or Massachusetts where the inmates run the asylum and the native-born taxpayer suffers for it.

With that said, we have way too many Indians, Puerto Ricans and Dominicans shitting up the electoral pool with their garbage votes and I find myself loathing them with each passing year I remain in this traffic-laden hellstate.

Also Ocean. I guess NJ is like Detroit in that it's been "bad" for such a long time, no one expects it to be anything else. The Californian fall from grace came to pass long ago, and the state is acting accordingly.

the phrase "if you like x so much why don't you just marry it?" is a common phrase in english to tease people who have an outspoken appreciation for something, possibly to an obnoxious degree, or to a degree that feels phony.
Yes, but it isn’t usually used in potentially realistic scenarios, more like it’s used for inanimate objects. Because that’s when it comes across as funny.

Also it’s more of an Americanism. And it’s not anymore a popular widely used term. Not where I live and among people my age, anyway. I’m not a boomer.

you autist.

Thanks for the compliment, I’m glad I’m succeeding to fit in here.

Either way, I don’t want to derail this thread.

This is not a dooming post but I implore everyone to be ready for Trump to lose. Despite all the polls, the rally support and everything in between, there is still a chance of him losing and you don't want to sucker punched by that. Be hopeful and confident but still be cautious.

Don't go into election night/week/month like the Clinton supporters

Ironically, the low expectations for Jersey to improve is probably what's keeping it from becoming another Michigan.

And that's why I'm going to head to bed piss-drunk before midnight on Tuesday. If I wake up to news that Kamala won, I will at least have a hangover to hide my sorrows at work.

This will be my drink of choice, appropriately enough.
