King of the hill appreciation thread - Yup.

Calling it now.

There will be an episode where Hank finds out that Bobby uses Coal in his Restaurant Grills.
There will be, from /co/ an excerpt from the production:
> ABOUT THE CHEF

>Chef Bobby Hill has loved food his whole life. From weeknights around the dinner table eating his mom’s “Spa-Peggy and Meatballs,” to overindulging in lutefisk at church potlucks, to celebrations with family and friends at Luly’s Cafeteria, food and the people it’s enjoyed with are the foundation for his best memories. In fact, his career as a robata chef was inspired by his most cherished memory of all—weekends spent grilling with his dad.

>A self-taught chef and one of the youngest contestants on King of the Grill, Chef Hill believes “good food can solve any problem.” He draws on the influences of his childhood by combining classic Texas dishes with flavors from around the world. With Robata Chane, Chef Hill hopes to honor the art of Japanese robata and the German heritage of the Texas Hill Country while pushing culinary boundaries through his innovative fusion dishes.
For those who don’t know, robata uses charcoal.

Also, as part of the revival Grey Delisle is joining the cast, even posted some Nancy artwork:

Has anyone else ever wondered why the whole incident with trip larson and luanne never came up again and was never addressed in the episode? I mean given the whole peggy was the one who turned on the killing floor, luanne got him onto it and he ended up a sausage, you'd think the cops would have plenty of questions about what happened and the whole plant would be shut down for an investigation and to ensure none of the trip sausage made it out of the plant

My theory is that peggy realized this and decided taking the sausage home with her and keeping the whole thing quiet was the best option to protect her and luanne from accusations of murder. Yet one day during the superbowl peggy ran out of meat for hank to grill and figured she could use the trip sausage she was hiding in the freezer to solve that problem and get rid of the evidence, that hank and the neighborhood would never know. Tastes like pork right? So hank grills the tripwurst up and everyone in the neighborhood eats it and they love it. The hills develop a taste for human meat and end up becoming the king of the hill universes version of the texas chainsaw massacre family. Nancy and luanne lure the victims in. Dale and boomhauer chop them up and make the sausages, hank grills them with clean burning energy efficient propane and bill provides the sauces and flavorings (after gilbert finds his way into a sausage casing and can't critique bills use of the family recipes anymore) He also sets up a food stand on the side of the road to sell the excess sausages to tourists and to direct tourists to rainy street to meet nancy and luanne so they can be turned into sausage. Hank also serves them up as snacks at big sales events at strickland propane to impress customers and keeps an eye out for customers who look tasty and aren't buying what he considers acceptable amounts of propane or propane accessories, who disrespect propane or invoke the name of that bastard gas butane in his presence and sausagifies them during 'service calls' and 'propane emergencies.' Hank works his way up to getting strickland himself in on it, who uses it to dispose of skanky tank wipes after he tires of them as well as underperforming employees to save money on severance packages and starts selling hanks special sausages at sugar foots, along with random specials of the week like sloppy joe jacks, spreading the taste for human meat throughout arlen. Soon the town hobos get rounded up and sent to an organic human ranch run by appleseed. and those canadians hank had a run in with? They never made it back to canada and sugarfoots was having a special on canadian style maple infused sausages for a few weeks. Hank does not forgive or forget anyone disrespecting his mower or trying to mow his lawn with an inferior canadian brand. Neither did that mexican girl peggy accidentally brought back from that trip to mexico. All those weekly accidents at the gun club? Well lets just say dale isn't serving up maracoons during his next campaign for president of the gun club

and of course, propane is family and chef bobby hill will carry on making special sausages for his customers and our of his rival chefs in the revival. Dale, lucky, luanne all got in his way and ended up served up to gordon ramsay during bobby's stint on kitchen nightmares

The sawyers had the saw is family. The hills have taste the heat when you become the meat

and people thought dark simpsons was dark

That said, trip loved his sausages so much that he became one. Thats dedication to a quality product. I mean you don't see ronald mcdonald lining up to become a big mac or the wendys girl jumping into the chili pot. That shows lack of faith in their product. Though the burger king making his rivals into whoppers might explain his uncontested rise to the burger throne

The new adult Bobby design seems to hint that he's become a chef of some kind which....is ok. The finale raising the steaks hinted that he was gonna do some work in the meat industry but changing that to chef makes sense.

Question is is bobby a steak house chef? the kind his father would he proud, of or is he a vegan chef making impossible steaks and quinoa. that hank would be ashamed of?

He is a fusion chef that likely uses charcoal given that he makes Japanese robata.

The closest I think we got is when Peggy and Luanne took Flat Stanley to a pork processing plant and stuck him on a kill line to "teach children about safety."
Yes, Peggy made her niece go with her to a pork plant (literally the same one that Trip died at) to recreate Trip's death a season after he died which would inevitably make her relive her trauma. Yeah, Peggy is kind of a sick bitch.

Real. No connoisseur of beef can stand Impossible Food.

I personally hope they don't kill Dale and recast him instead. One of the great thing about animation is that actors' mortality doesn't need to limit what you can do with characters. Johnny Hardwick Did a great job, genuinely Dale is one of favorite characters ever and his voice plays huge role on how well the character works, but doesn't mean someone else can't do a good job on the role too.

Just do a respectful moment for Hardwicks memory and maybe a nudge nudge joke about him sounding bit different. Then move on and let Dale continue as the great comic relief nutjob with surprisingly sweet side.

Eh... I'd almost rather a gag about Dale disappearing under mysterious circumstances and let Joseph take over that comic relief role.

Heck I was joking with an associate and we came up with a whole plot line where it turns out Dale was Q all along (and responsible for Qanon) and now is "it got out control, Hank" so then he has to fake his death and disappear.

Have Dale be a throat cancer survivor and give him a voicebox, problem solved.

him still smoking would be the best joke involving this
On that note, having them do a dale parody of the cigarette smoking man from the x files with dale hiding out with john redcorn in some texas version of the pueblo indian ruins from the xfiles series finale, with dale decrepit, sitting in a wheelchair, smoking through a hole in his neck and still ranting about conspiracies, surrounded by manitoba cigarette merchandise he got by sending in points from packs to show just how much he smoked to get like that would be hilarious. Could have hank track him down and have it end the same way it did in the xfiles with dale putting out his last smoke as a black helicopter fires a missile into his hideout. It would be a fitting ending

Could even have hank doing his usual standing by the government, watching it happen, turning to the guys and saying its the government, i'm sure they had their reasons and dale was acting a little off lately

Eh, I think Bobby should be alone and the elder Hills are raising GH (who likely has crippling autism because his daddy was 75).

I mean Chris's dad was 50 years younger and barb was on her last egg...how old was didi when she had GH? Not to mention austic or not, at least the hills would have tried to train gh to act near normal or at least drive a propane truck as an adult.

Didi was 39-40 when she got pregnant with GH. So, yeah.

Or hilariously GH is everything Hank sorta hoped Bobby would be. His autism has him watching sports and going to games, but he's entirely focused on player stats rather than the games themselves, so Hank would be semi-torn. "I can talk sports with the boy, but he won't shut up about every play in every game since 1971."

I like the idea of gh being the “manly” son hank wanted Bobby to be, like maybe gh is in the army like cotton was and can throw a football. I’d also like the idea of gh being autistic about sport stats and the hills have to care for him.

Unrelated but Peggy was a menace in the show she kidnapped that Mexican girl and hid her in the closet.
