Near the end, Jet popped up a producer message saying : "The fun part of this show is watching the train fly off the rails." I hope they are able to pivot correctly. Keeping up the ruse for as long as possible and then just unleashing hell on them will lead to a very short season.

I think they could've been a bit more cautious than they have been. I have to say they have done pretty well and its clear they don't need to actually proactively really do that much when you have Burt wacking it and coming up with 160+ IQ schizo theories about the show and also people like Alex who are clearly not really "all there".

Yeah, honestly I don't know how they will be able to pivot without them leaving. I kind of like that Fishtank is a banned word and that everyone notices that something is fucking off. I could see Binx and Burt staying, but people like Ron and Missy leaving immediately.
I hope they'll manage, but adding people like Fatty or Hassle will make everyone leave.

TBQH I don't really think they even need Fatty or Hassle. Those guys worked in previous seasons and if they just use the same ingredients every single season it will get boring and repetitive for the viewers. Sam Hyde as the showman works well because he really is very versatile and entertaining--he has been a new character on every single season, but he has experience with comedy and doing stand up, most people do not. He is also the showman so he is the guy running the show which means he has a position of authority and the contestants will respect more stupid things coming out of his mouth compared to some guy who joins 2 weeks in.

I feel like Frank Hassle and Fatty are not versatile at all and not capable of being versatile and would just totally ruin the show at this point, the same as trying to pull some of the same stunts they have done on previous seasons.

It would be really funny and interesting if the last 3-4 fish were paid out rewards or take home money based on how many viewers the show got instead of just the allure of the grand prize--the idea being that they would have like a live viewer count in each room and act to eliminate the most boring contestants first.

Would make things a bit more reactive too and also allow production to gaslilght them about certain stupid things. Even if they weren't being gaslit it would also be hilarious because it would raise questions like "why is burt's room getting all the views when he's just sitting in bed?" and I could imagine the comedy of the contestants constantly interrupting his gooning sessions and not understanding what is going on

They'd also modify their behavior a bit based upon it.

Come to think of it, that's actually a change they could make to pivot it more into fishtank zone and also make guests like Fatty and Frank be more palatable.

I 100% agree with your take. I don't want to see them there. But fatty was seen, I think when they bring in the car. I don't have that scene on hand, but I think I distinctly remember seeing him there.

He also had a super retarded haircut where it looked like patches of his hair were missing and then he did a really stupid looking shuffle, so all subtlety went out the window instantly. If any of the contestants saw it, it would've probably acted to shatter the illusion that the show was at all serious quite quickly.
