Most of the bigger restreamers have more or less moved on as well because they just don’t have time or interest anymore, like PoP and Meerkat. Who were arguably the most entertaining.

Phil really did go all-out in a desperate move to keep his peak going (because he’s a retard) and completely fucked himself permanently.

Hopefully these last 3 to 4 whales bleed themselves dry and Phil drags his fat wife back on for a little more attention. Their interactions are so fucking weird it’s honestly the most interesting thing he could do.

He's literally saying on stream right now that this type of content doesn't bring in viewers. He has ditched and avoided so many games for total bullshit reasons over the years. I know he's retarded but why the fuck isn't he doing literally anything else on stream right now.

I think the kick arc was the final nail in the coffin for a lot of Phil watchers. There was always a hope that Phil would revert back to his "King of Hate" persona if he was given a platform for it, with Kick being the best bet for that. But he played it disappointingly safe, and it was right on the heels of showing he sucks at being a drama streamer, which I think is the other big hope people had for Phil content. He was so bad at it, he couldn't get into feuds with anyone, not even the internet crazies took the bait because he's that much of a nobody/they didn't even realize he was trying to cut a promo on them.

He still has some manic moments here and there. I think there's some entertainment to mine, but it's definitely become a little more stale and repetitive. Even by Phil's normally lackluster standards. And as others have said, there's a lot less to speculate on about his life. At this point, my big Phil hopes are we get him doing more streams where he has to do basic tasks. I only ever watched a few clips of Phil here and there, except for the stream where he was trying to setup his PC. I watched at least an hour of that, and if he does buy totally get donated a new gaming PC, I'll probably tune in for the whole stream of him fumbling around trying to get it connected to the internet and failing basic captcha tests while screaming at his audience.

True, and that's gone because you get recycled rants and bad attempts at punching down (or punching up and missing). Games are such an afterthought at this point, and that's his own doing. From the Kino chat logs, the closest to mask off you'll ever get are in text in a safe space (their streams) or almost a mask off moment with money. You might actually get the full mask off if the whales take a vacation but this new crop seems more dented than most, so 100 person streams with 3-5 supporters is the norm.

For a while his streaming hours were 50/50 gaming & bullshit (podcast, reacts, WWE Champions). He's trying to take that time back but its too late, not that there were more than a few hundred people watching games anyways.

And yes every week for 10 months he cackles at his decade old playthroughs of games and quite often makes the same joke past Phil made. He never gets any viewers for this and its just a jerk off session to his old self.

I do have to correct myself... if he revealed other truths, that might get some hype for a week, but he won't reveal anything until he's really desperate, and even then I think he'd hide most things. He's not good at garnering sympathy for real causes, just bullshit like saving the house. So even the bump from that isn't possible.

The only thing that was fun about Phil was seeing how shit he was at gaming.
I know the first time i watched him play a game my reaction was "there's no way someone this bad exists, am i dreaming?"

However, after he got scared of TIHYDPs, he made it his mission to neuter himself as much as possible.

1) Created an enviroment of handholding in Stream Chat, now when he plays a game his stream might as well be titled "YouTube plays (Name of Game)" because he won't take a step without asking the chat what to do.
2) Completely neutered his commentary out of fear of cancel culture, so no more racist jokes, titty jokes, horrifying commentary etc.
The only thing left is scat commentary which only a 2 year old would find funny.
3) For a long time, closing his YouTube comments section so you couldn't even edit in comments during TIHYDP editing. Only re-enabling comments long past the time anyone still gives a shit, and even then, everything negative gets deleted by the dictator.
4) Settling into a new life without any interesting people near him. Say what you want about John Rambo, Howard, Pandalee and others but they managed to bring fun out of him.
Now? Kat is basically a vegetable and Jasper is... a cat so Phil has no one entertaining to bounce off from, so his commentary now consists of filling up dead air and begging.

I'd say after Kat entered the picture he became basically unwatchable, it's amazing how boring he makes everything look, he literally sucks joy out of everything. Even the "interviews" he did should have been a gold mine instead he made them become as good as watching paint dry.

The DTRH documentary always had people asking for a part 2 but I think Joon's documentary was far superior and at 4 hours long it pretty much paints DSP as a complete liar through and through. There's nothing more to add to it anymore.

I can only speak for myself, but I stopped being as interested after the bank leaks came out. We all saw the full truth with them. I guess it's taken the average viewer a bit longer to catch up.

yeah the bank leaks were definitely a significant event, and on top of that he also killed the king of hate tumbleweed forums and in doing so killed off some of his classic side characters like KGhaleon (horse fucker)

and also by banning derish he also inadvertently got rid of the like probably legit 50-100 people that would follow his chat just to see what derish would say each tday

Even then, the problem with any of those is that none of them are going to happen anytime soon and they won't fix anything. If DSP doesn't have a personal drama then people will stop following him (I mean it appears many already have).

Like lets say khet moves out in 4 months time, he might get a couple of hundred more views for a week and some tweets and then it'll return to the baseline - he just did a stream tonight with 100 viewers lol

Phillip - every metric of yours except tips is on its knees. If you think being propped up by 3 whales and nothing else is a good thing, let alone ‘winning’ then you are as intellectually stunted as we always thought. Is the plan to milk them until you’re 60 while streaming to 10 viewers?

From my own perspective there is an element of burnout after all the excitement but this idea that Phillip has intentionally made himself boring to neuter detractors gives him far too much credit that loremasters know he isn’t due.
He’s simply a lolcow that isn’t funny anymore. To me, he’s moved from funny to sad. He’s a 42 year old man who tries to dress like big brother, tries to talk like big brother and, like big brother, desperately tries to get into internet slap fights that he’s not very good at so they come out cringe. He’s the living ‘how do you do, fellow kids’ meme.

By the eay, TBS still see strong viewership. That’s probably down to the personality of the hosts though.

Ignoring Phil and his baggage, streaming is down across the board. Look at Twitch, viewers are down, watch times are down. And the games coming out are not interesting, even before Phil touches them. Gone are the days of the "hardcore gaming season" where 10 tent-poles are released at once. And in the rare case where a good game does come out, the streamer market is so saturated. Nobody wants to watch a random bum play BO6.
I honestly believe dropping games is in his best interest.

@neger psykolog I think you're missing two things in the "Phil is dying" narrative.

One, he's been botted for a long, long time. Even when the numbers were at 400-500 viewers, active chatters would drop as low as one or two. I don't remember the exact dates, but there were runs when Surly Muppet and N0thingICanDo were reporting long stretches of zero active participants. It's obviously impossible to know, but it wouldn't surprise me to find out he's been about or below 100 viewers long before now.

Two, if he is seeing actual viewer drop off, I'd look to his "surge of popularity" as the temporary culprit. He's making more money, which means he's simply less interesting. Inevitably, when this streak ends and his funds dry up, he'll go back to acting more outrageous, which means more detractors eyes, which means he gets another surge in support, etc. Rinse, repeat.

Theoretically, at some point, things will actually truly and completely dry up. But I'd guess we're going to get a Perry Caravello-esque "Phil does bizarre and outrageous things for money" arc before I see him going homeless or streaming to single digit audiences.

Kick woulda been fine if he took it seriously and not just make it a restream dump for subs. If he moved all drama to Kick and streamed a few nights a week there and just kept doing his thing on YouTube his position would be so much better.

His normal viewers hate drama and his dents want the goals for the gunnar glasses and the vest and right now he does drama more then anything and shits on any of the goals he used to do so people openly say in his chat they are leaving all the time at this point. Relying on OIC on at a minimum 4 different names which we know of 100%, some dude with a kid and a dead wife and then some other whale who spams kick subs is not exactly a healthy streaming situation.

Hell he could've buried the hatchet with Craig during that interview and gone on his show and shit on "woke" shit like he is doing right now and got an actual bump from it but he is too petty and stupid to do that. He just has no business sense or even just a negative business sense and adjusts his shit months after the fact.

If that is true (who knows how deep the whales' pockets are, it could go on for years), then I think any deviation/pivot into other content would just be death-throws. His brand is and has always been hitched to gaming. "DSP" is a popular Indian music artist and probably the acronym of other companies who have more internet traffic than Mr. Burnell - he will get elbowed out of searches in any other context but gaming. "Darksyde" sounds like a Star Wars thing. The anti-woke culture war grifter thing is related to gaming but it's very oversaturated with more talent and production values than DSP. Anything else would just be starting from scratch in a sea of people hungrier, more knowledgeable, and more talented than he is.

The only thing he has of value is his DSPGaming channel, which he's lucky that Youtube is too big and clumsy to know to delete the enormous amount of dead subs he has. Some Paypigs thrive off attention from the free loaders (that sometimes partly includes people like me, I guess), so it's a delicate balancing act keeping the "us vs. them" cult mentality to keep the $ rolling in. He's more stuck in his position than Kat would be if she tried to sit in a movie theater seat on her pipedream Japan honeymoon trip.

From what I have seen of him recently, he is actually handling himself pretty well given the circumstances. I don't know many bankrupt dudes who jerked off on camera who are able to make a coherent point.

I can see why you would think that at a casual glance, but if you listen to him over a period of time in a larger context, he's not coherent. His opinions, stories, and timelines all conflict. He's completely fragmented and incoherent as a person and a content creator. His strategy is to lie faster than he can be debunked.

For example, DSP reacting to his JoonTheKing doc - even with WPIG ALTInsider (arguably the resident vortex lore master) reacting to the react, DSP was word-salading/contradicting himself/rearranging timelines faster then ALT could keep up. Generally I like ALT but that was slop content. As someone said above, DSP is really only entertaining when he lashes out at his own supporters.

I'm someone that fell down the DSP rabbit hole around 2012 or 2013 and have been fascinated and entertained for a very long time, lurked on this sub forum before making an account here, and had some fun contributing to the sub forum. I hardly check here or watch detractor videos(mainly Memeology and a bit of hate army and TBS/WPIG) like I used to after KC were throwing fake praises his way and kept him on their podcast. Sure, I might read something funny or dumb Phil said or did, look at some funny posts or photoshops of Phil, or react to a post about some weird or dumb shit a DSP fan said, but in terms of checking for anything interesting or funny going on with Phil, my interest has dwindled immensely.

Ever since he admitted to playing WWE Champions, then made a 2nd account to play it on stream, and then became a wannabe drama streamer(no thanks to KC)with retarded and forced "felted" and king "memes", he's somehow gotten even less interesting and entertaining than when he first married Kat. At least there was still something to laugh at because of how little chemistry they have between each other and how weird he acted towards attractive fictional women.

Him seemingly slowly trying to drift away from playing video games makes it even worse because him being absurdly bad at nearly any video game was the most interesting and hilarious thing about him. Even when he was being hand held by his chat, discord, or reading guides, he'd still fuck up somehow.

I can't say if he'll become even more irrelevant than he already is, or if he'll keep the momentum he has currently going(whatever's left, anyway), but he has for sure gotten even more boring than his "mature adult/I'm married" phase.

Sorry for the long post, neger's posts got my mind jogging. I'll check whatever stupid take he gives about the election, and take a break from this thread and come back either before or after the holidays, I don't know, probably won't bother checking for a long time.
