From Musk's perspective, aligning so hard with Trump as he has could cause him and his companies to get plenty of government contracts in the near future. Even if he genuinely likes Trump, he could benefit financially quite a lot from his presidency.

Republicans outperforming Democrats in some of the swing states, even. And given that women can be Republicans too (shocker, I know!), these numbers look bad for the Democrats, especially considering the Dem platform this year put all of their chips in on abortion and reaching out to women.

When Trump won in 2016, they blamed white women. If he wins again, they'll do the same.

It definitely shows their different mindsets. Trump knows he'll have people that dislike him regardless, he understands it, but he's had no problems opening up about his life, from his brother that died of alcoholism or his dad dying from dementia, even his failed marriages. We largely know who he is, and we can love him or hate him. Harris seems not be able to handle being disliked, even when the critique is constructive.

You'd be surprised by the political leanings of those guys. I was over at my dads house today helping with some household chores. He lives in a very rural area of a very red state. At the end of the work we went to one of the nearby country bars. It’s the kind of place that farmers, truckers, legit cowboy boot wearers and the working class go to unwind with a cold one.

Vice President Harris was on the TV and the local gun store owner said to his auto mechanic (friends since high school),

“You know what? She ain’t so bad. The economy is recovering, nobody’s rioting, and we’re standing up on the world stage again. Can’t believe I’m saying this but Ol’ Oakland Kam’s got my vote this year.”

I looked around and all I saw were heads nodding in agreement. I heard a few calls of “Yes sir” and “Damn Straight” from the men around me. Even saw the lonely ball cap wearing farmer in the corner raise his drink with a nod.
