Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

I mean Ford was woke to the JQ and so they punished his noticing (and desire to actually make things better for his workforce) with a court ruling that corporations are breaking the heckin law if they dont put shareholder stonks above all else, courtesy of the shabbos Dodge bros
Not actually what happened Dodge v Ford basically says that you can't go out of your way to fuck over a specific investor ie state that's why your doing some action other than that it grants wide latitude to companies to do more or less what ever they please and is only binding precedent in Michigan.

French urbanist moved to the Netherlands because Jason raved about it. Turns out Jason lied and it sucks:
Overpriced cost of living, depressing architecture and rude people? You could get that by moving into the downtown of literally any major city in the US, which are all walkable. No need to move countries.

Jason's big November video is an hour long video hating on self-driving cars:
That seemed anti-climactic.
So basically Jason thought that self driving cars would lull people into the idea of public transportation, but when that didn't pan out he went back to calling them murder machines. Got it.
Is it "I hate Elon Musk" or "self-driving cars are bad because they are still cars and I hate cars"?

Great video by Mileage Mike. Although it's mainly about express lanes on the Georgia 400, he destroys the mass transit people on way trains won't work in the Atlanta area.
Express lanes are nice. I-271 in Cleveland has a 2 lane express in each direction from near the I-90 terminus and a couple years ago they extended it all the way down the 271/480 concurrence. Iirc the express lanes got signed for 480 and local 271

Sadly, car hating faggots are already infecting the comments section:

How have urbanists reacted to Trump's landslide victory?
Threads urbanist has given up on humanity for the 50th time:

If anyone has access to his account it'd be fun to see the seethe. He is still posting if you look for replies, even his followers don't seem happy with his attitude:

All that's left to see if the verdict that Jason "I don't care about America" Slaughter gives.

There's a part of me that wants to feel bad for them but they've given right-wing people grief for years, and by extension anyone who owns or drives a car.

- Complaining about "low information voters" which is how cities are blue
- Talking about Project 2025 (who's a "low information voter" again?) which was all media hype and something NEVER talked about or promised by Trump
- Never bringing up the failures of "Amtrak Joe" or how he couldn't even restore Sunset Limited service (even Bush did better than that)--hell, did Kamala make any transit promises?
- Blaming rural people for why their transit projects don't take off (the issue of "who subsidizes" and the issue that gimping streets for bike lanes is proving to be increasingly unpopular in cities)
- "I'm moving to Mexico", lol
- The guy complaining about a "car dealership owner" winning a senate seat (I can't tell if it's state or national elections) as if it were a protected class and it was in 1972 ("I can't believe a woman/Negro/Mexican is this close to winning a Senate seat!")

I know that Nashville passed a pro-transit initiative, why not talk about that? (abortion rights, one of the things Kamala campaigned on, did pretty well)

A moment of clarity:
Yeah, I think the "bike lane revolts" should be an indicator that their ideas suck.

I swear, these guys don't even think their own ideas through.

1. Did Biden actually do anything for Amtrak on a passenger level? Sure "increased funding" but that just pads out "administrative costs" and does jack shit for improving service or new lines.
2. Anyone mentioning "Project 2025" is the ultimate low-information voter.
3. Trump talking about forcing apartments into single-family zoning is EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT, don't pretend like he's talking out of his own ass when that's exactly what you yourself have stated.
4. As retarded as the "let's call them something else to trick them into liking it" gambit is (see: "sea kittens"), antics like "hey, he's parked in the bike lane, that gives us the right to slash tires" is antithetical to the whole concept of "freedom lanes" anyway.
5. If congestion pricing went to the polls in the MTA counties, the same ones that hold a stranglehold in NY politics, it would likely lose decisively in a +5 margin easy. The governor, who enacted it in the first place, pulled the plug on it because it was polling badly enough that it could threaten local politics. These are the same people who claim they like the idea of democracy.

I want to point out that the urbanist is right, transit is decidedly not local. The whole point of transit is finding a lot of money to pay for big giant capital investments in moving lots of people from place to place. In order to fund that, you need to either cover more people (less local) or size it to your local area (unless you live in a very dense area, too few people to fund it).

They are a very aggressive and imperialist peaceful ideology, and much like the West's experiences with the Religion of Peace, anyone that has to call themselves peaceful probably isn't.

Most of what it comes down on higher levels is funding. The government gives money to the states, which in turn add to their own funding of freeways and rail projects.

The problem usually boils down to the fact that they're not bad infinity money is not being dumped into HSR or redirected to large cities for mass transit projects. In addition to failprojects being extremely expensive (billions just to extend a subway line a few miles, or the endless amount into California's high speed rail projects), urbanists usually forget two things:

1. Freeways are still the main source of transportation in the country and the major cities get the most freeway money anyway.
2. Mass transit budget usually gets eaten up by massive administration costs.

No one on their side ever talks about #2. They whine at how congestion pricing isn't giving the MTA more money and not questioning redirecting administration costs to operations and construction. It's like how anyone on "their side" cannot be criticized unless they're "not doing enough". (On that matter, I really don't want Trump to put RFK Jr. in any real power role, but one nutcase put in a position of power compared to a whole army of DEI degenerates who will cause much more damage is still the lesser of two evils).
