Dare I say it, I think the political landscape has matured just a smidge in this department. People are exhausted and don't want burning cities. They've seen a US with Trump in charge. They've seen a US without Trump in charge. I still expect some protests around January and DC is gonna be a hellscape for a hot minute but I actually predict a pretty quiet transfer of power.

I will rightfully be mocked for this in two months if I am wrong.

I say this as someone who is not necessarily in the MAGA movement (because political saviors are not a real thing, and I'm not a conservative): that moment is powerful not just because of the iconography but because Trump knew he was hit, couldn't have known how badly he was hurt, could only have made split-second assumptions about why he was shot... and his instinct was to be defiant for the crowd in what might have been his last moments.

That is very telling about his character in a way that can't be faked. And his opponents all would have hidden like little bitches.

I don't think they cheated, I think that they convinced a lot of people that this was the last chance to prevent Hitler 2.0, and then those people saw that nothing changed with Biden in office. Still, maybe I'm just being .

- They changed a lot of laws about mail-in voting at the least second with the knowledge any legal challenges by Republicans (which were launched immediately) would take until after the election to be heard.

- They scared the shit out of their voting based to push them to vote by mail.

- They censored a huge October surprise that would have negatively affected their candidate.

- The economy was artificially in the shitter globally because of how governments reacted to COVID.

It's not unbelievable that the guy "in charge" when the world went insane was thrown out as punishment for doing too much or for not doing enough... what's unbelievable is that Democrats voted harder for an old, white male dementia patient than they did for the Long-legged MacDaddy Obama. Per Fox the DOJ has also confirmed that all of the federal cases against Trump will be dropped including Jack Smith's and he will be gone before Trump is even sworn in.

Turns out we just had the ultimate national jury trial and Trump was acquitted. He also gets to be President again.
