Clallam County I believe was the single last remaining bellweather in the country after Ohio was won by Trump in 2020. It voted Trump 2016, Biden 2020… and now… Kamala in 2024. So there’s yet another rule broken by Trump: you can’t win without the bellweathers. He absolutely trounced Kamala and the establishment.

We got his by a freak snowstorm last night, This morning I cleaned off my car and went to Starbucks for a PSL and parked in a fairly open parking lot, as I'm parking I hear honking and see a middle age white women behind me yelling saying "I had my blinker on!" I shrug and figure i stole her spot I didn't see her and her car was covered in snow.

I go inside and she rushes in and walks up to me and calls me an asshole, She picks up her coffee and again calls me an asshole, She leaves and starts walking to my brand new car, I tell the barista I'll be back and walk outside to stop her from doing something stupid. Once again she calls me an asshole and gets in her call to drive away. I wave and tell her "Sorry you had a bad morning but Trump won" and she peeled out in the unplowed parking lot almost fishtailing into the curb.

The PSL was nice and I got a bacon gouda sandwich but i forgot to scan my points =(

I just want to say, as a drunk, that it's really pathetic the last two women running for president can't keep it together enough amid (potentially unexpected) adversity to concede their loss in a timely manner.
I'd have more respect for Kamala if she just went out slurring to tell Trump "good job, you won" and dip out than this pathetic retreat from the public eye. She's finished in politics anyways, most like.

Serious answer from someone with pretty moderate views on this. I think millennial women in particular were raised on horror stories of pregnancy and childbirth and were taught that life in the mid-20th century was the worst time ever to be a woman. Teen pregnancy was the worst thing in the world (still not advisable imo but it’s part of a general anti-pregnancy push), and the difficulty of affording kids has been heavily emphasized. ‘Having fun’ is pushed over settling down. People talk much less about the joys of having children and focus on horrifying fringe cases. Women want the ability to avoid pregnancy because they are afraid. And I really do empathize with them because it’s hard to break out of a mindset you were raised to have.
