Most Trump supporters and Republicans have been inundated with Kamala advertisements and media campaigning, to the point where most of the people I knew thought he was going to lose no matter what. I kept to the polls, and believed that Trump had a fairly good chance of victory, but that Kamala might win. Meanwhile, the Harris supporters got high on their own supply, so to speak.

He negotiated and signed the Immigration Control Act of 1986. TL;DR he cut a deal with Congressional Democrats that gave amnesty to illegals that were already here, in exchange for strict border control and tougher action against any new immigration. The amnesty happened, but the border security conveniently never materialized, or was undercut by later bills.

If he had bullied the Dems and done border security unilaterally, we might not have had a 40 year slow motion disaster on the border. The GOP used to point out the Dems lied and broke their end of the bargain, before the open borders crowd gained power in the 2000s and turned it into a perpetual wedge issue they never planned to solve.

Wow, that's really fucked up. Never trust the Democratic party to fulfill their end of any bargain.

I went into this expecting it to literally be a 50/50 coinflip. And considering his margins, that's not entirely incorrect, right? A couple dozen thousand votes the other way and it'd either be insanely close trump win or narrowest Harris win.
