Narratives like this are the currency of populist movements. The common man yearns for great yarns about great men doing great deeds. Such tales elevate the soul, and have been increasingly rare even in entertainment. Now people feel like they are living in one.Of course. 2016 was an amazing underdog story but 2024 is the culmination of a nearly decade-long emotional rollercoaster of truly unfathomable plot twists. Absolutely the most kino thing is the fucking steal. Absolutely devastating when it happened, but in retrospect it was the adversity that drove Trump to go on a training arc and find new nakamas (former enemies, even) to go even further beyond. It is absolutely poetic that the villain’s own actions - the greedy desire to secure more power NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW - is directly responsible not only for Trump’s powerup but also for their own eventual downfall, and that had they not stolen 2020, they would’ve actually won the long game.
You literally can’t write a story as good as the reality of what actually fucking happened.
Trump is denied his rightful title by scheming contemptible niggerfaggots. He is driven into the wilderness for 4 long years. He and his allies are harried and harassed with lawfare, jail sentences and debanking. His people are subjected to cruel near-daily humiliations by his victorious foes. Still, he persists. He gets through the lawsuits and the bullshit, all the while he builds a new coalition, draws in new allies, drives out the snakes and organizes his forces.
The election comes around and he enters the ring. Apart from the second debate, he dominates. His instincts for PR are impeccable. He turns almost every gaffe into a win. He's doing so well the eponymous "they" take their shot, literally. Trump, through an act of divine intervention, narrowly avoids a gruesome and public death. He was supposed to die that day. Instead, he rose from the dead, reborn and baptized in blood, and rallied his people to victory.
And what a victory it was. A blowout, too big to rig, etc. Kamala doesn't outperform Biden in a single county while Trump makes historic gains in multiple battlegrounds. His people are organized, lawyers are on standby to shutdown any shenanigans. It looks so bad questions about 2020 are being raised again. Elite unity is crumbling as some begin to break for Trump, signalling the start of an elite preference cascade. Many are ready to "put the woke away."
Trump returns to the Oval Office renewed and more resolved than ever. This is not the Trump of 2016. His years in exile and near death experience have changed him. Some might say he is becoming the man history needs him to be.
Furthermore, he has a movement at his back now. They are his people, and he is their man. Their mutual loyalty was founded from necessity but is now sealed by blood. They have a clear plan of action in the Agenda 47 platform. Failure means doom. More than that, they have a convincing popular mandate. The voters decisively rebuked the previous 4 years and embraced the MAGA message. Border sanity, economic prosperity, restoration of order, global peace.
Obviously, this is a smoothed over and romanticized simplification of the real story. But this is the narrative gathering around Trump.
