As I've said before, to be a centrist you have to do more than actually just criticize both sides. Dev fails to be a centrist, even, because that's all he does, and he seems to do one a lot more than the other. Centrism should be self-evident when you peel away what Dev has to say about both sides. An analysis of Dev's policy positions and values absent of any criticism of left or right or social commentary should reveal him to be a centrist if he actually is one. Things like his take on government and how it should function, economy and taxation, the limitations of government to regulate private lives of citizens, etc.
When you put Dev under that lens, he utterly fails at being centrist, falling far too heavily on the left. He either confuses being willing to criticize the dumbassery on his own side for centrism, or he willfully deceives others and portrays himself a centrist to speak from a position of greater legitimacy.
(And I don't mean to harp on this subject more than I already have, I'm just responding to the rant above.)
