They more or less just didn't use pronouns and rerecording the script I get.
The main thing that annoyed me was everyone had posh annoying as fuck prissy voices. Would it really have been that hard to get a bunch of different regional actors? Especially when they manage to have crazy numbers of black and Indian people moseying around 1800s rural Scotland, lol.
I cope thinking "maybe all the worlds magic people mor or less move into the same areas"
And I suppose they can teleport.
But the posh annoying voices for all the whiteys was cloying.
Also it was a bit twee. I wanted some more genuine edge.
But i suppose it's supposed to be a kids series.
It is a good foundational building block, anyway. Look forward to the second one.

I thought that too, that maybe the wizards all needed to be around Hogwarts, but then Natty says she transferred from OogaBoogaBoo or wherever, so there were magic areas elsewhere. When you compare the DiVeRsItY in 1800s Hogwarts to 1990s, you wonder what happened in between. As for the accents, I suspect the developers hammed it up to drive home the Britishness to the American audience.

I've said this before about Moviebob, but it's still remarkable how he doesn't/can't/won't see Harry Potter as the work of an author, but rather as a product put together at a production company by hundreds of faceless workers to be consumed directly out of a tube. Not as a series of books for children to read, but as a brand to be marketed and sold. Like things can only exist for him as consumer goods in a landscape of all encompassing media conglomerates who are obliged even to murder in order to more effectively feed product to an audience.

And in what world do the rights to Rowling's works go to Warner Brothers in the event of her death? She has actual heirs, does she not?

In two seconds they could say "Hogwarts is a world renowned institution..."/"It was my dream to come study here"/"They don't have magic schools/communities like this anywhere else"/"They were going to burn me for being a witch, but I was smuggled here by a benefactor" for past diversity, and just say former students returned home to build schools that cultivated/preserved local magic traditions or something like that.

I don't see that she's made any major change in her actual core beliefs. She's the sort of person who should be their target audience and they're even disgusting and repulsing her kind of person. It's almost like incessantly threatening to rape and murder women is not persuasive.

Maybe. But on the other hand both Milo and youtuber Owen Jones are, and were, pretentious insufferable faggot grifters. Not much has changed there.
