Greta Gustava Martela / Kjel Anderson & Nina Chaubal / Niraj Chaubal - Stole $350k+ from Trans Lifeline, kill count of 2+ from negligence, Founders of Sisterwood/La Zorra.

One of the commenters in the Raw Story comments is inching near breaking the conditioning:

I gotta say, I'm getting really sick of these 2. No one deserves to be treated badly so don't get me wrong I hope nothing bad happens to Nina in this place and I hope she as able to work this out to a good outcome. BUT I have noticed over time many inconsistencies in what these 2 say about trans lifeline funds such as they talked about getting all these extras for the phone line and later said they were in dire straits with the line and it was going to close and they needed money so someone asked can't you scale back these extras for now and they denied there was ever any extras.

Now that this story about an immigration problem has broke there are inconsistencies in that story as well. For instance there is a go fund me page where they say Nina has to get a bunch of immunizations and they need $500 for it. I went through this immigration process with a family member and these immunizations you can get free at a health department or sliding scale clinic. You do have to pay an immigration-approved doctor for an exam but it doesn't cost anywhere near $500 and you can shop around and find an affordable one.

Now the story has changed to being about a deceased spouse which Greta had divorced. Well the divorce paper is irrelevant, all she needs to do is produce a death certificate, proof of divorce right there since the marriage is done upon death anyway.

Now I will give you that the immigration service does put people through an insane amount of bullshit even when you think you follow all their rules there's always some other rule to trip you up. I'd be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since immigration laws are so complex and full of shit and not even the government seems to follow them, but I have seen these 2 in so many inconsistencies on the trans lifeline page over time on facebook, which later disappear or become impossible to find again, that I'm becoming suspicious of them at this point. I'm starting to wonder if the rumors about them are true.

Again, I don't wish anything bad on them but I'm really starting to be sick of their constant emergencies and inconsistencies in their stories.

Good luck to them, they'll need it. Sounds like Nina is out of status on her application for green card, which means asylum is her only hope to avoid deportation and banning from re-entering the country.

"A whiteness checkpoint"

Oh god.

It's echoing what a couple of other people in this thread have said, but I've been through that checkpoint numerous times. Half the time they wave you through without even stopping you. Even if they do stop you, at most they ask if everyone's a US citizen and if you have any fruit. And while I'm sure the Border Patrol is supposed to be looking for all illegal immigrants, I doubt their focus is on people from India that overstayed their welcome. They're a LOT more worried about the border immediately to the south.

My point is, while Greta saying that Nina was from India was probably enough to make them take notice, I'm willing to bet there's a LOT we're not being told about this story. I'm willing to bet that someone got uppity because they thought the rules didn't apply to them.

I've never been through such a checkpoint so that's interesting. I"m also betting there are some major things being left out of the story. Had Greta and Nina just said, yep we're citizens all cool, they might have gone on their merry way but getting fore warning they were entering a check point they panicked. (Also, they probably assumed things would be checked so they had to tell the truth when asked. )

Because they are stupid and arrogant they probably thought everything was cool because Nina had a valid Indian passport and a marriage certificate, and with that they could just talk there way around any issue. Wrong. As soon as they admitted Nina was a Indian national they were going to check her status - and the expired work visa (and no legal change in status after that) was a one way ticket to ICE detention. ICE has a serious database and once you are flagged there is no chance in hell of talking your way out of it.

It's also possible they just did a routine check on El Niño and when they ran his ID found out he's in the country illegally.

I'm damned sure it was this. If he was in the country legally, they would have been able to establish that easily even without the papers. They still could have detained him pending the arrival of the papers, but I doubt they would have.

Greta is an absolute fool spinning the "couldn't get my divorce papers" lie, because sure a shit at least one of her media supporters is going to contact the relevant office to reeee about this being their fault.

lol

If Nina gets deported, she can't take a phone or computer with her.

I wonder how many of the people who are reeeeing right now even offered to help Greta track down his divorce papers back when he first mentioned needing them.

Few, if any, I suspect - even though it was essential to Nina being able to gain residency and stay in the country. If they didn't care enough to help then, their outrage now is entirely recreational.

You just know that if it was a white, "alt-right" over-stayer being deported he'd be screaming for it to happen ASAP.

Could someone go back and spoiler that gross shit?!

Done.

Idly: There is definitely something going on here, Kiwis. Greta's changed her story quite a few times since Nina got fingered, and all evidence is that Greta was, in multiple ways, responsible for it in the first place - driving through Arizona, pointing out Nina was from India.... I daresay the possibility Null raised - of Greta doing this to get rid of her - might have been legitimate.
