Could she get bail? It's possible if she is found to have credible fear for her asylum claim, but even credible fear doesn't mean she gets bail. Bail is up to judge. If the judge think she's just bullshitting to remain in the country he/she is likely to keep her in detention as a way to motivate her to just give up and go back to India rather than pursue a lengthy, costly asylum claim in the courts.

Sanctuary city doesn't protect Nina from ICE. Sanctuary cities only mean the local police force won't fuck with immigration issues. If the local cops pick up someone and discover they are here illegally they don't pick up the phone to alert ICE. ICE does it's things, local cops do there's. Sanctuaries cities are usually more about local cops saying we don't want to do ICE's job than they are about protecting illegals.

• Greta and Nina detailing their extravagant and disgusting life style (fb posts etc.) and wasting of money potentially from TLL. As well as their hate towards detractors, the U.S. and anyone that doesn't agree with them.
• Elizabeth's suicide, their attempt to pass blame onto us, and his wife revealing they ignored his calls plus Greta and his friends trying to harass the wife into silence over the reveal.
• Nina getting caught by border patrol, the info on Nina being an illegal, the marriage being a sham and Greta's posts from the past stating they knew all of this and did nothing.
• Greta's use of TLL to start a harassment campaign against ICE and the lies such as them crashing the detainment center's phones, claims of racism/sexism/fears of persecution, the asylum push etc.

Preferably keep the sources down to Greta and Nina, none of their friends, since that just adds clutter.

There was supposed to be a lolcow news article. I forget where in this thread Null spoke of this (think it was somewhere between Page 70-120), but he said maybe 2-3 months ago people had offered to write an article laying out evidence TLL was a scam. They never did it and interest in her after her infamous journey to Null's mother's house waned. Obviously the impetus to do this now is extremely high, so hopefully it'll be done very soon.

What I particularly like is that nobody seems to be able to directly address the criticisms beyond "uh the line is understaffed cant blame them." They can't respond to the question of what happened to the green card money or why Greta thinks it's okay to victim-blame a widow. They've steamed in with this absolute belief in the rightness of their cause, that it's racism and transphobia and Grina are the good guys and ICE are literally Hitler. When presented with the idea that maybe it's not a black-and-white issue, and evidence that Greta is not the saint they imagine, they're completely lost.

Founders of a suicide hotline are naturally sympathetic, and no one wants to believe someone they view as one of their heroes is really a stupid and corrupt criminal- especially those who are in a demographic as small and marginalized as theirs. And people are generally stupid anyway. I'm not surprised at all people are reacting as they are to people like @Manapan and whoever it was Greta threatened recently.

Information is power and immigration lawyers spent years learning the complex maze of immigration laws, some like to act more like wizards and not explain or clarify anything unless they are forced too. It keeps their clients ignorant, scared and paying.

That's very disheartening to hear. The lawyers are almost as detestable as Greta and Nina are. Good thing I'm a law-abiding and native American citizen and I don't have to worry about any of this shit.

However, Nina was picked up by ICE and then claimed asylum. She is facing an adversarial asylum claim meaning the government is going to fight you on it from day one aggressively, every step of the way.

Yeah, any system is going to not be happy with you if you inexcusably refuse to adhere to their laws and processes for so long, and then you go "Oh, uh, I want asylum status!" right when they discover your wrongdoing.

And Greta, of *course* Nina's passport has her gender as male. It's incredibly unlikely she's even had it reissued in her current name, so it probably also shows a different name to any other ID she may have been carrying. Nothing suspicious about that, no sir.

The above is the best, and probably, only documentary that gives an inside look into the credible fear process in US asylum claims. This is the standard asylum claim, not the adversarial form but the "credible fear" interview part is the same for both. It was made in 2000 and things got a lot tougher after that and I don't think they will ever give any journalists that kind of access to the process again. I highly recommend it, it's fascinating regardless of all this Nina shit.)

(If anyone watches it I know someone who's credible fear interview was conducted by hardest ballbuster featured in the film (it will be obvious who I'm talking about) he thinks almost everyone is lying and he's probably right. When this guys lawyer was told this particular guy was conducting the interview he said "you're fucked buddy he denies everybody." But he was granted credible fear, the INS guy was a hard ass but he knew truth when he saw it. It actually gave me a lot of faith in our asylum system. )

If she doesn't pass it, it's pretty much game over. She must be granted a credible fear finding to be able to apply for asylum. What she says at this interview is critical, it lays the entire groundwork for her case. If she changes her story or details after this, they will notice and it will fuck her. The fact that she probably never studied up on asylum makes me think she is pretty fucked because she won't know the very strict perimeters of the definition, Her career at screaming persecution at every slight is going to bite her in the ass here. INS doesn't care if mommy and daddy don't approve or if you get misgendered.

Also, TLL is going have to some fast and furious fundraising to pay for that D.C trans lawyer to attend the CF interview with Nina. If a lawyer isn't there to try and help Nina I give her a snowballs chance in hell.

Either the lawyer said "I'm not dealing with you if you're going to act like that" or said "if you can't remit payment immediately we won't even consider it", but her actions speak volumes. You don't go from, "Once in ICE custody we'll be able to talk and she'll be released" to "EVERYONE CALL AND HARASS THEM NOW AND CONTACT THE MEDIA AND DONATE TO TLL" in a single day without being cut loose from your chain.

Immigration lawyers do not work on contingency. Period.

You can have an attorney present but it's not required or a right. This is why getting a "D.C" lawyer was so fucking stupid. You need an attorney on the ground in AZ who can get to Elroy within hours if needed if the CF interview quickly done. These massive detention centers are famous for doing a quick and furious CF interview just to deny you and deport. They are famous for keeping immigrants in the dark about shit. Nina could wake up tomorrow and have a CF interview, you only get 48 hours notice. Because of the enormous amount of abuse the asylum claim system gets, particularly on the southern border, they might try to churn it out and deny it asap.

Just to be clear Nina has not officially even been allowed to apply for asylum yet, an officer must find CF first and that allows her to just apply. All those asylum denial stats I posted earlier were ALL people who passed the CF interview but were denied asylum later. CF is a much, much lower bar than actual asylum. CF is to weed out the most obvious fraud and unqualified cases immediately.

I loved your analysis of the situation. Anyway, you are extremely correct about all of this. Only the best prepared and strategic people will ever win or draw in a war with Kiwi Farms. Oh, yes. I've contemplated this as well, her performance in an interview while incarcerated in an especially shitty place. She's fucking stupid, she's fucking scared, and her preparation for this is minimal at best. I doubt even the leadership and presence of a lawyer would help her, but certainly without one the chances of her succeeding are laughably close to zero.

Well, it's the Internet. It's possible to maintain all this from India. The issue becomes paying Nina for the work when he's abroad. Greta can't write a check to herself for twice minimum wage, split it cash with Nina, and then claim they both take home minimum wage. You need to start doing monthly wire transfers of several thousand dollars, and that's not good for optics.

You could probably use cryptocurrency but you'd have to be pretty up front about it and while it might be optically bad, the fact that the whole thing is an outright scam is really the bigger problem.
