Supporting the Forum

The month-to-month goal has rolled over to January. In only three days we raised server funds and enough extra money for an upgrade I've been dying to get.

Our ideas look like this:

Forum mods aren't worth doing until XF2 comes out, but I can start playing with the other ideas immediately. I'll prioritize my currency and rating plans as soon as I have XF2.

The base goal is $400, the other two are personal goals that are about $800 apart from each other. They're not required just to tread water, but if I want to things like expand our server's capacity, hire artists for logos, buy software licenses, and pay for a lawyer I'm going to need everything I can get.

So the total at the bottom is for the goal of all combined?

What exactly is that anon/identity generator thing? It sounds like it'd be cool.
 
Is there a deadline for donating to be eligible for the loot? Or whatever the $20+ donation bonus is?

Something very close to this, probably integrated into the site and the lolcow email system somehow.

No, and once the system is setup it'll just be automated.

The goals restart on the 1st of every month.

For those of us who already have a lolcow email adress, do you plan to integrate an alternate domain name to make our IDs look more legit ?
 
thanks to UR! support we have a new search function. We're at 24GB of RAM now so I could afford to install Elasticsearch and use the XenForo extension for it. Our search feature should be better now, and once I'm done expanding our HDD we should be super fast as well as I've given the database more cache room.

you should spend the money hiring someone to fix the login button so it keeps you connected for more than half a second. And enable stay longed in as default until then.

Browser / OS / VPN?
 
Not sure what it could be. We handle user sessions via memcache, so I'm wondering if our memory issues are to blame. I'm raising the memory consumption for both Memcache and MariaDB in their configuration.

As soon as the disk transfer is done I'm going to reboot which should fix that issue.
