DSP subforum killing the farms, A&N killing the farms, pretty sure I saw a breakdown from dear feeder on some other subforum a few months ago. Everything is killing the farms cause we only post in places we want to post in basically.

Rubio was against that Ukraine Aid bill so that's good at least but really Trump is gonna have to bring in people from all parts of the party even some neocon or lib leaning GOP members to get stuff done at a good speed.

While I would like him to hire only 1776 MAGA chuds there are positions where you have to go through approval make it impossible for some people. RFK Jr. will NEVER get past senate committee so they are going to likely make a new position for him and there are plenty of other people who are based on certain issues who have a 0% chance to get past the senate.

Rubio would also be safely replaced by a republican appointed by DeSantis, who despite is piss poor presidential campaign has been a stellar governor of Florida.

I think Rubio knows that if he displeases Trump he can replace him at will in the blood Red FL. Basically Rubio has to know he is on a short lease.

The Senate is the old GOP last stand so I'm really interested to see if they are going to cave. Hopefully Musk really start threatening them with a PAC to start primary them if they don't vote for Scott.

Rubio is a decently placed strategic pick too, it allows Desantis to replace him with another Florida conservative. I've seen some people suggest Rand Paul for a position but that would be a bad choice right now because it gives the Democrat governor a chance to replace him with a Democrat, hurting the GOP's position in the senate. Not surprised he got a cabinet position; he's been pretty close to Trump during the campaign and he moved into the loyalist camp pretty quickly from the 2016 primary days.

Yep and also the factor that DeSantis probably knows 2028 is not gonna be a good idea for him since Vance is the most popular person for either party right now so he can put a lame duck there, take his spot next time to seat is up and then chill in the senate getting a wider appeal until the time is right for his next presidential run.
