A long time coming, but I finally have an ounce of gold.

I don't like trying to catch a falling knife, but I might try if we go down 8 percent from right now.

Bought on the dip.

Feeling a bit patriotic with recent events. One might say I feel as strong as a Bull Moose!

This was part of the "America the Beautiful" bullion series that started coming out ten years ago. You've probably seen the quarters; the bullion coins are 5 ounces, 3 inches in diameter and an eighth of an inch thick.

The next is two firsts.

First, it is the first modern commemorative silver coin. They were common at one point, then the ideas become more stale until Eisenhower killed it. They brought them back for a special occasion - the 250th anniversary of George Washington's birth, in 1982.

Second, this was my first silver coin. We all start somewhere.

I normally only ever buy bars from my dealer from their box they dump bars into that they buy off other people so I don't really ever get any kind of neat designs and don't care about designs at all and buy purely for mass.

But that Teddy coin makes me want to buy a coin with that design because Teddy is a beast

I seem to be always shocked now days, why silver has not had a substantial pull back yet as the dxy goes into a bull, intrigues me .

I here rumors of Russia adding silver to there reserves but I haven't been able to find quantity .......

I still feel pretty good not buying and not selling until I understand more.

oh, oh, i have one to add to that collection!

i found one of these at a shop a few years ago. there's not a whole lot of information about them except that they were produced by an unknown mint for the bicentennial of the united states, with the expectation that nixon would be re-elected that year. lol. most of the rounds were subsequently destroyed, but there are still some out there.
