Additionally the whole basis for it was stupid. So Alex Jones said some conspiracy theory stuff on his show like he has done for the past 30 or 40 years. There is no logical equivalency. There is no proportion. You think Kamala will get ANYWHERE close to the governorship in California? Not factoring in her disastrous presidential race, California is Pelosi's turf. Kamala won't get far without her and Gavin's blessing. I think they are going to delay it a bit longer then he will dismiss the charges. Trump winning on appeal would be a really bad look and he would win on appeal.

Not every single family as that would be impossible, there are still some that are all for suing but it ended up a big joint thing where it's on their behalf.
Some got to the stand and said about how they forgive Alex and that they came to an agreement. They would've been happy with say 20% of the profit of his show going to the families instead of this stupid $1 billion thing just so they can shut down the show.

What's sad is Alex Jones spent years negotiating and made a LOT of concessions to the families, personally apologizing to every single one of them and giving them millions of dollars in compensation. There was going to be an agreement where every year he would raise money for the families on the anniversaries, he would make the families shareholders etc. etc.

The big left-wing attorney groups that represented the families (Willkie etc.) tried to shut down all communications and went against these wishes. The families would've ended up with a lot more money and get a lot more out of the case if they took the HUGELY generous offer by Alex Jones. These attorney groups would rather shut down InfoWars and give maybe 500k to each family rather than potentially millions a year to the families.

The verdict was a total sham, it's impossible to justify $1 billion when civil cases in which the liability of 1000s of people dying have got a lot less. For example, OxyContin which has killed 100s of thousands based on lies had Purdue Pharma ordered to pay just $600 million.

The only way that this doesn't go to appeal is if Merchan gives Trump's team exactly what they ask for; that the original indictment be vacated, which wipes the indictment and arrest off the face of the Earth.

Anything less and Trump will go ahead and appeal, and oh we have to also assume that Bragg won't appeal either, despite being a retarded nigger. Of course, if Merchan does this he is admitting that the entire indictment/trial was improper from the start, which obviously leads to the question of why did he allow it to proceed in the first place. It would be a huge embarrassment, he would basically be forced to confess to being a politically motivated operator, and shame his court and the appeals court that refused all interlocutory appeals.

There is no option for Judge Merchan that doesn't end in some kind of shitstorm, because he aimed for the king and fucking missed.
