I don't know how to find anything good anymore.

I realized this when I was scrolling youtube finding nothing of value, and checked my sibs to find about 10% of my nearly 200 subscriptions actually upload anymore. And that's not counting the sheer amount that I had to unsubscribe from due to a lack of quality. Youtube is a recursive nightmare of ("video essay", "meme video", "video you already watched", "trending page video", etc.) Steam has long since been flooded with garbage, and most video game review sites and channels do not help even slightly. Every reddit is heavily sanitized, so you can't even find the rare weeds that used to pop up here and there. Every "content creator" is now heavily sanitized. Even if you try alternatives, like bluesky or neocities they seem just as gay and faggy as everything else.

TikTok.

It's been pretty clear that if I want to find anything interesting anymore, I need to search for it myself, or get help finding it. So if you know anything interesting, this is the thread to post it.

Criteria:
- Any piece of media, creator, etc as long as it's creative (No pure reviewers, vloggers, etc.)
- It recent/still active (creator has recently posted/isn't dead or abandoning their work.
- It's good (not bad.)

A lot of stuff starts out okay but then doesn't end in a way that's satisfying/is any good at all. Can't you relax your standards to "things finished in the last 5 years" or something like that?

I don't have a lot of good shit myself. That's why I made this thread. I do have some things I still check out:
He already has a thread here, but tamers has been taking the MLP fandom by the balls. Arguably the biggest thing to get excited about since the show ended. I personally haven't watched his SU stuff, since even his MLP videos tend to have this style of repeating themselves I find. Very funny and well animated.

Starts off as a standard Gookshit, dude gets trapped in a tower with a game system and becomes the strongest, but quickly goes off the rails into some interesting metaphysical bullshit. Gold star series, I don't wanna spoil shit.

Oh, I am absolutely cheating with this and I don't care. He's likely going to upload after his whole campaign finishes, and you can also count the game dungeon in this since he goes beyond a typical "review channel." It's half life from the perspective of gordon freeman, which sounds like some reddit shit but the writing for freeman is phenomenal. Probably old enough as a series to drink at this point.

When I've found myself in these funks, what I've found useful is to just try and pick up a new skill. Direct your energy into learning something and the process of improvement. Doesn't have to be something super practical or complex, like for me it was just baking. You might be needing to broaden your horizons and push yourself out of the comfort zone of purely digital pursuits. Surprise yourself, to put it another way.

If you want to stick with games you could try learning a genre you never usually give the time of day. I always shill fighting games (my profile is a fighting game gimmick), and there are plenty of great resources to pick up the bare basics to develop some good fundamentals. And this exists in any genre.

Really I think it just comes down to focusing your attention on something specific. I've been laying around for almost two weeks straight now and bored out of my skull, and the cure really is to just get up and do anything.

The sheer irony of this post is that I made this thread after a three hour study session. I've been drawing, programming, writing, etc. But I can't just endlessly hobby forever. It's at the point where I spend most of my time learning and hobbying, but when I just want to watch a cool piece of something for 20 I just rewatch old shit.

I think this is probably pretty common. I do the same thing myself where my background noise is just repeats of videos from channels I like. Internet Historian/Incognito Mode/Storymode, EmpLemon, Pongsifu/second channel, Pointless Hub, Ahoy are the ones whose stuff I put on for easy listening while I work on something else or do housework.

Perhaps you need to get away from YouTube and Internet entertainment in general for a while. Check out some local content i.e. touch grass
This too. Try turning off the noise and see what's the easiest to just pick up and start doing.

Man, this has been utterly depressing. You guys all got nothing? Not a random comic, or a small channel or an indie you found on steam?

Having too much background noise is the problem. I am spoilt for fucking choice if I want random background audio, so much that it's overwhelming. But I'd like to watch something that demands my full attention? Not something that sees itself as a distraction like a podcast or a tiktok. Pretty good youtuber list though, Pongsifu I gotta check out.

Also what is this, reddit? "Instead of answering your question, here's why what you were asking was actually retarded and gay :smug: ." I want cool media not just to waste and afternoon. Seeing interesting art is what inspires my own work when I draw. And going on with my current media intake is like eating nothing but bread slices. You will survive, but it's not good for you.

Okay, so when you're done whining like a faggot about it do this:
Seek and ye shall find, faggot.

Get off the internet, go to the fucking library and pick out a book. Sit your ass down in a quiet cozy corner and read it, you lazy shit.

Nigga you spent 3 hours sitting at your computer and now find yourself dumbfounded as to why you're not entertained by spending more time on it.

I've been enjoying the genre of 'dudes doing incredibly dangerous science/engineering shit' shit like styropyro, thebackyardscientist, I did a thing, Mike Shake, Integza. Or just more general math, science and engineering shit like Astrum, Plasma Channel and Electroboom. There's also some decent sketch comedy. AlmostFridayTV videos are always fucked up and funny or this Australian dude Garn I find his shit pretty funny usually too. I watch the occasional video game focussed channel but I find too many of them these days are zoomers discovering nes and snes games and they make my brain hurt. I watch a dude called St1ka sometimes. He puts out lists of older more obscure video games and he goes pretty in depth into them.

Join the Asmongold viewership.

Mosty because he sometimes covers interesting topics, news & politics, current things/miscellaneous, videogames, etc, and can do so in an amusing way, even if you don't agree with him on certain stuff; he also uploads regularly. I do not recommend participating in chat.

If you want gaming, you can watch Avoiding The Puddle. I believe he has some talent for comedy (in his own way), just don't join the chat unless you want to get shot.

You can always watch series & movies, or even anime (yes, there are good ones). Or, you could read manga since you mentioned comics. They say Berserk is good (I have yet to read it), Ichi the Killer is one I liked, or you can go for the ones people always mention, like Uzumaki, or other manga by Junji Ito.

If you're into game developing, I can always recommend Jonas Tyroller. He just stopped making videos (way less often), but what he already has is worth a shot.
You're into art, right? Check AdamCYounis for pixel art for game developing, here's a chill video for you to check: video.

You want original, comedy skits? Check CalebCity or Daniel Thrasher (he's also a musician, so some content revolves around that).
