It's useful to have a mad dog on a leash for negotiation purposes. If Hamas knows their choices are whatever deal Trump wants to make for peace or Trump shrugging and letting little Marco loose they're a lot more inclined to come to the table and agree to terms. There are still enough neocons left in the Senate that he needs to throw them a few bones to get his nominations through so if a Rubio appointment keeps them happy while freeing up a Senate seat for someone who'll be more of a Trump loyalist it's hardly the worst move.

It is very peculiar that nobody had seen these old Agenda47 videos (dating as far back as the end of 2022) until they suddenly started to get passed around in conservative circles after Trump already won the election. Peculiar as well that the Dem campaign most certainly knew about these Trump-narrated policy videos but apparently chose to ignore them and instead used Project 2025 as one of their main attack vectors despite the flimsy connection to Trump.

I guess the Dems refrained from sharing the Agenda47 videos even as an attack because they realized that voters were more likely to find the videos based than repulsive. Flaunting Project 2025 as being 900 pages also discourages people from looking into it while the Agenda47 videos are easily shared and processed in bites.
