If you'd read the last several pages you would know that it doesn't matter if he was "joking". What he's said provides enough grounds to get a warrant and subpoenas related to his electronic communications and because the "My Activity" screenshot has been confirmed as real by Aaron, police are unlikely to drop investigations just because Melton claims it was all a troll.

If it was all a very ill-advised joke and there are no files, Melton will still have to deal with being investigated until that is established. Additionally, there is still the issue of using the pretence of having possession of Aaron's private files to harass him.

The threat and intimidation would still stick.

The mere fact he launched that second stream to pretend cry is an acknowledgment he fucked up and was trying to dress it as a joke now. He confessed multiple times to have the material and it was provided by Rekieta before the pretend stream.
He basically fuck himself out of content by casting doubt on the material and criminally by his association with Nick. Undoubtedly. Unfortunately for Melton, most people here are smart enough to keep their eyes on the ball. That ball being the unauthorized access into Aaron's Internet account(s), and Nick sending Melton stuff from the breach (as well as all the pedo shit that predates this recent story arc).

My takeaway from his "bit" is that he's not worried about what he's involved in, and wants people to know that (he's gloating), but that he's still very much involved in it.
