What they say and what they do are two different things. They totally have the receipts and budget papers for the exact reason you mentioned.
They don't want to show people though because what they say they do with donation money and what they really do with donation money are two vastly different things.
Can you imagine if the trans community found out that Translife line took in $10,000+ in donations to run the hotline but only spent $3000 on the hotline and the other $7000 on themselves? It'd be a shitshow of the century.
All I know is that if my spouse was being detained by ICE... I'd cease caring about asspats and would be more worried about how we were getting my spouse back.
Greta wants this to be drawn out as long as possible because the longer it takes the more asspats and media time he gets.

It would not suprise me one ioata if Greta and accessory are so fucking dumb they didn't keep jack shit.
I can imagine and they wouldn't say a god damn thing about it because the narrative is more important than facts. Very few would maybe be asking questions, but the majority of their lickspittles won't look at the facts twice if even once.
Also, aren't non-profit reports public record? I'm sure once they have to file and everything got processed Kiwis could ask for the report.

As far as I know, only if they are receiving grants. The granting bodies usually want an itemized report of how their money is being spent. Donations don't have as much scrutiny, and usually a financial statement has to be accepted at an AGM.
I'm only somewhat familiar with the Societies Act for Canada, so you'll have to read up on how TLL is not conforming as a society in the US.

Psh, have you seen how these people are willing to believe whatever narrative fits their fee fees rather then facts. Most of the troons that orbit this site will explain it away or even say they deserve it for the work they do. There's our proof that Greta is checking the thread to see what we're saying about this. The Debra Grace Peri comment was posted on 27 December, but it was a comment made on a TAP post from 25 November. The post does not, in fact, call TLL a scam.
Why am I not surprised that a mere accusation of "trolling' is enough for the faithful to block someone without asking Greta what was said or where?
And lol that anyone would rely on a website for information on visiting hours on a public holiday instead of either asking during their previous visit or phoning to ask. But hey, Greta not doing something properly is ICE's fault, just like Nina being out of status is someone else's fault.

Yes, they do their own research but they are buried under a mountain of cases so they only have so much time and resources to devote to each case, if it's not some terrorist/criminal/fraud they aren't going to spend hours digging shit up.
As for the current defensive asylum bid the prosecutor isn't going to devote any time to research and digging until it actually gets near the point of a Individual Merits Hearing - which can take years. The prosecutor will probably see Nina is claiming to be married to a US citizen so will just sit back and see if the case is dismissed due to a I-130 being approved before wasting time on researching her particulars. It will be hilarious if the marriage isn't actually valid, but even if it isn't expect for Greta and Nina to make it so unless Greta decides she's tired of her child bride and all the baggage involved.
As far as petitioning for a marriage green card - When my husband and I were doing the I-130 app and interview we thought the officer would easily see in five minutes a long documented history of our legit relationship on social media - he never gave it a glance. WE had to provide hard copy photographs, print off FB pages, give notarized affidavits from friends/family testifying to our relationship. The same goes for the other end of the spectrum, they aren't going to spend hours to disprove or find bad shit either. It's the petitioners responsibility to provide everything because they have hundreds of cases and limited time. USCSI officers are required to process/resolve so many cases, so spending lots of time on one case can fuck up the stats they need maintain good job evaluations.
In my experience, the most attention they give your case is when you are in front of them for interviews/appointments -or- if they think fraud involved. (Fraud is what causes the type of investigation that most people assume is SOP. A fraud investigator is assigned and that's when real shit gets dug up and they comb through social media or they interview your landlord about who actually lives at the address, etc... But the case would have to be flagged for fraud for that to happen otherwise it will never get that kind of scrutiny or research.)
Our assigned USCIS officer had no idea about anything involving my husband or myself unless we submitted it to him - the biggest thing is they rely on is you not to lie by having harsh penalties for doing so and submit proof of everything you say or they ask for.
I also didn't suggest sending an essay of any kind ICE - that would be stupid - only relevant facts so it can be entered into their case file. If anyone is really interested this is what I suggest:
Keep in mind there will be two matters, asylum and a marriage greencard app. Right now we only have the aslyum info, her applying for a greencard visa an 1-130 will happen in a few months. All you want is a cover letter asking to submit facts relevant to the case# and alien#, you must include those #'s and her/his name and DOB, and then simple bullet points.
For the asylum matter the relevant facts are Nina working illegally at TLL, Nina was an Uber driver, Nina's interview about third gender stuff in India and maybe that story about schools for transkids in India. ICE/NCIS actually accept submission of facts (if they are relevant) from anyone aware of the immigrants activities in the USA pertaining to the case/application.
Then attach the actual proof of the bullet points - printed off screenshots from TLL's webpage/media about Nina working and for the asylum case add media interview she did about India's transgender awesomeness - including links to it in archive- and that's it.
I'm talking a one paragraph cover letter and maybe 3 or 4 attachments that simply provide the evidence of statements in the bullet points. No getting into her online activism spering about Trump/USA hate, nothing about how shady TLL operation are, etc... Only direct statements of working illegally and how great India is for third gender people. Since I'm sure Greta/Nina will be quick to screech about hate groups smearing them it's important to just keep it simple and factual. No fluff, no gossip, no language that indicates bias or prejudice of any kind.
Later when the USCIS greencard application is submitted the same should be done but only including illegally work stuff - they won't give a fuck about conditions for trans in India, it's not relevant to their application at all. All they will worry about is if the marriage is legitimate and if Nina has been doing things she shouldn't be (like working) while in the country.

TBTH this is a long haul thing. Don't expect to see any results from submitting evidence for quite a long time, it will matter, but in the future. On Tuesday they will just glance at what's in front of them in the current case file to make a decision about bail amount and will only care about obvious flight risk/criminal activity/fraud factors. Any incoming information or research pertaining to the actual asylum petition or greencard stuff will take time to be added, reviewed and have any impact.

One thing I'm unclear about is whether Nina can take two bites at the cherry simultaneously. Can she still try to get a green card via the spousal route while trying to claim asylum at the same time, or does she have to pick one of those options right now (in which case it would make sense to try to go the spousal route and only try to claim asylum if that is ultimately denied)?
The post didn't accuse them of that, though. All it said was that they never have anyone online to help.
If anything the comment after that is more trollish, but Greta doesn't ask about that person. I tend to agree that it's about Greta purging her own friends list of doubters, but also about getting her followers to purge their lists of people who aren't 100% faithful Greta groupies. She doesn't want to risk being asked awkward questions in non-public posts right now.

The problem with the whole Greta-did-it-deliberately theory is that it seems like quite a roundabout way of doing things with a lot of ways that things could go wrong, particularly given Greta's apparent ignorance of how these things work. Admittedly we're not hearing the full story and a lot of what Greta's telling us could be lies, but I think to be honest it's more likely simple fuckwittery.
I worked in a law firm many years back, and Christ I got so sick of people who think the existence of "pro bono" means "lawyers work for free." This is just the sort of case that had me rolling my eyes - it's an open-and-shut immigration case. There is no injustice, the authorities are acting perfectly within the law, the client can afford to pay and the only complicating factors at work are Greta's inability to keep the story straight. I guess maybe the fact that the lawyer appears to be trans might get some solidarity points, but even that is doubtful.
I love the "I don't know her but I'm blocking her anyway did you see greta did you see me doing that greta" reply. Any sensible person would ask why people keep turning on Greta with no apparent motivation, but sensible people aren't exactly common in that circle.

Absolutely. Anyone who doesn't kiss the ass of the cult leader must be banished from the tribe lest they influence others. Everyone who questions anything is now a troll. It will discourage questions from the faithful who so desperately want Greta's stamp of approval, but it also means genuine supporters will get purged as well.
It's another indication that Greta cannot, and never will be able to, see the organisations with which she's involved as separate from herself.
And some of the people in those facilities *are* criminals. The ICE website has an extensive amount of information about how they prioritise both detention and removal, as well as who they prioritise find when people who've been bonded out abscond.
Yes, detention centres are prisons. Whether they're prisons for a specific demographic is going to be influenced largely by their location. You're going to get a lot less Canadian, British or Australian over-stayers being detained in Arizona than people from South America because of its proximity to the border.
