This is anecdotal, so grain of salt. Back in the Before Times when Me Too hit I had a large number of female Facebook friends. My feed that weekend was full of sad stories, ranging from repeated catcalling (which is not technically assault, but it's scary to women) to multiple rapes. Out of a couple hundred women we only had one who said she had absolutely no stories like that, not even creepy leering.

We ultimately decided that the real stat was likely closer to 2 out of 3 women have experienced some form of sexual harassment or assult, or higher.

Back when I was a reddit fag I'd see threads asking for when women were first sexually targeted. The replies were chilling, lots of pre-puberty assaults, but most common were stories of adult males making creepy comments or touching them inappropriately as early teenagers, right as soon as they began to develop breasts.

Yeah, the majority of women have at least one story of being creeped on. It's so common that we just think it's normal to be hyper-aware of our surroundings.
