What is your opinion on cosplay?

It's cool when people spend hundreds of hours in the workshop creating Hollywood quality outfits, masks, props & all that jazz.

Other than that it's cringe if not some weird exhibitionist fetish in denial.
 
Its a hobby. Sure some thots do it too and rake in the money online but lots of average joe and jane do it just for fun as a hobby. Its harmless fun and if you hating then you are probably just a miserable fucking retard to begin with.

Like its not so different between this and say a dude playing 40k? You buy paints/makeup as well as arts and crafts to make your cosplay of character you like. The 40k hobbyst buys paint, arts and craft and make an army of his favorite characters/faction of 40k. Its an actually creative hobby. BTW im talking about people who actually do work on their cosplay and not thots who wears a full body latex suit and had 0 part in the creation of the costume.

cosplay used to be just homemade costume hobbyist thng but post onlyfans era it's become "buy chinese shit off amazon/ebay and then claim you made it and make porno" for a lot of them.There's still some exceptions but like genuinely miss the cool shit people used to make during the 2000s and early 2010s with no budget and no motivation aside from thinking it's something cool to make. There's still some like that but it's a mix.

I miss when funky shit like this was the norm. There's something to these hand made no template cardboard and plastic/foam sheet things that the current year 3d printed stuff "influencers" use doesn't quite catch most of the time.

By cosplays are you talking about the people that dress up and then go to a Halloween/Renaissance/Carnival place and have fun with frens or are you talking about the people that cosplay as degenerate shit, go to degenerate places, and pretend to be the thing that they are dressed up as?
 
If it looks cool then it's good, I guess. Not my thing.
 
It's only okay to wear costumes on halloween, any other day for any other reason is begging for legally and morally sanctioned bullying.

Always bugs me when like modern day "cosplay" people like are supposed to be doing a costume of a character that's like a funny literal cave dweller goblin creature and then they just like got themselves caked in makeup and try looking clean as possible, completely robbing the actual identity of the original character they're supposedly making a super accurate costume of. Similar bugging type vibes when t's like a character who's got like a subtle amount of that stuff and they then slather on basically whore pant levels of it. It's been an issue with cosplay sit for years but it really started kicking off right before lockdown era and then exploded once everything was in lockdown. Didn't bring this up earlier but some shit I saw in the thread reminded me.

I had in mind stuff where adults dress up. College Halloween parties, Renaissance Festivals, and cons are some of the most degenerate gatherings around short of stuff explicitly dedicated to sex and sexual orientation (pride parades, furry conventions, etc.)
