I think it also helped that Rory had prospects; she was at CalArts, which is pretty much the fasttrack to an animation career, and she did actually animate (ugly style or not, 2d full animation is a shitload of work and does take work ethic). Her art got attention for all the wrong reasons, but she wasn't motivated by the attention; by God, she was gonna draw bimbo Captain America whether it was to an audience of thousands or an audience of one.

Autumn constantly shows that she has no fresh ideas (how many iterations of the same handful of stale ideas have we seen?), is motivated entirely by how many internet likes it gets, and apparently spends 90% of her time spouting out increasingly schizo-tier 'motivational' word vomit in hopes of more likes.

They're both fetishy artists with bad taste, but you're right that that's about where the similarity ends personality-wise.
