Most of us have seen the Post-election tweets of Liberals melting down and refusing to go to Thanksgiving, Christmas, or even speak to their Conservative family members again. I myself have lost friends of 8+ years to this election, simply because they remembered I voted Trump in 2016, and subsequently blocked me on every social media.
I believe this post-election meltdown is less reactionary and more calculated. 4B, cutting off family, ridiculing minorities, the whole nine yards. I thought it was just crazy radicals at first, but it has started to affect me in my own personal life. My liberal friends are going into rumor mill mode and starting an inquisition for any Conservatives, shunning them socially. They have been left to stew in hate and inflammatory news for 8 years, and this reaction is much more harsh and cold blooded than 2016.
I remember 2016 being an outward display of confusion, rage, and coping. The Left was shocked that Trump voters existed, and were then forced to go back to work and live amongst them. This time, it seems like they are fully committing to alienating everyone different than them, and burning all bridges.
Have you had any experience with friends or family cutting you out? Do you feel that this election reaction is worse than 2016? Will this attitude destroy the Democrat party over the next 4 years?
