So in this case, the shadow cabinet is only useful if Trump is assassinated or the presidency is somehow given to Harris or someone else anyways, like faithless electors?
Countries that can have snap elections or coalition collapses benefit from a shadow cabinet, but not the United States which has clockwork elections
It's not even useful then. None of it's official. They'd still have to be nominated and confirmed. It exists only as a seething cope for the democrats and a desperate attempt to blunt the country throwing them out into the political wilderness en mass.

So every time Trump does anything for the next 4 years, these "shadow cabinet" types can run around going "I'm the AKSHUAL cabinet position in exile, and here's why you should be upset / vote against doing it / impeach him for it." Both in the ears of their faggy cohorts in congress and in the media to the American people.

"Jewy McJewstein, SHADOW ATTORNEY GENERAL, up next on MSNPC, to tell you why Trump can't actually do the thing he's doing because he's only TECHNICALLY the president."

Pretty insane shit I'm hearing from this guy, he basically wants Europe to arm up, draft millions of people and throw them at Russia, saying that this WW3 he wants requires urgent mobilization RIGHT NAOW while simultaneously acknowledging that Russia has effectively neutered itself on Ukraine's bayonet and is very pathetically still struggling with it's impoverished neighbor. If Russia is doing so poorly, and he knows it, why the urgency to go and fight? Maybe Simon Whistler should consider joining the Ukrainian army if he wants war adventurism so badly.
They know come January the infinite toybox for them to play war with gets closed. Since that means they might have to stop playing war, and they don't want to, the next best thing is to convince other people to play with them. Thus, the EU needs to get ready to die so that Youtuber can keep blogging about how awesome the war is.

We used to call these faggots Armchair Generals. No idea what the current name is.

Funniest thing is that Europe is too fractured to even think about re-arming themselves. They have never had a public consensus on anything they do and operated on the basis of manufacturing consensus on the backs of growing economy.

The said economy is now halting.

And ruling elites are now advocating for re-arming themselves.

Good luck with that shit.

DO-o-o-onal-ald it's go-ot ASSSparTAME, DO-o-onald. DO-on't dri-ink it, DO-o-o-onald!
I can hear it in his voice and I dunno whether to be offended or laugh. So I'll be be offended AND laugh.

Hi Kiwis! I spent my time on the forums looking at stuff other than politics! Maybe I shouldn't have, because I think I've earned this top hat for real now!

What'd I miss? More shadow government faggotry? Wanna take bets how long that'll last before they'll get memed to death?

its so funny whenever they say that they are trying to claim it about a caricature of the 50s as if that's what most people are talking about. Like no nigga the "old america" we are talking about is the pre-2008 king nigger/housing crisis one. The america trump displays at his rallies is very clearly not some sort of stuffy leave it to beaver type deal. Like I can very clearly remember this america it was NOT an illusion.
I remember when grocery prices were so decent that it was viewed as being a weird scrooge mcduck miser to be a penny pincher coupon clipper, not a necessity.

That's no way to talk to a pre-2020 user, newfag retard. You're always going off topic and saying shit that doesn't matter. I hope you get raped by a troon Twi'lek with a Mickey hat.

You sensitive faggots need to calm down. I made one singular cheeky post and didn't call for a personal army. I wanted information here.

It's been a week after the election and it will eventually calm down, I don't care if they're a little uncomfortable, they'll get over it and I'm not engaging further there even if I'm called a megafagtard orange nigger sucker.
Awww, did I make the poor wittle paypig gwumpy?

The shadow cabinet is specifically so if the ruling party loses its majority in an election the new government can take office immediately without needing time for the new ministers and their staffs to assemble and be brought up to speed on what their ministries are doing. It isn't to be a check on the governing party or anything else. The governing party has absolute power through its majority, there is no check on it whatsoever except a no-confidence vote, or losing a particular vote by defections or abstentions of its own members, or the law as applied by the courts

It wouldn't work in the US because the chief executive (PM) and his cabinet (ministers) aren't members of the legislature and the executive (and legislature seats) have fixed terms that can't be changed by calling a snap election or losing a no-confidence vote (which doesn't exist in the US, except, very loosely speaking, via impeachment or the 25th amendment)
This is one of the many examples of Democrats wanting to do something like Europe without understanding why it works in Europe and how it doesn’t apply to the U.S.

Just call them chickenhawks. That's what they all are. Gung-ho about playing war because its other people on the line, not them.

Don't put much stock in Whistler himself. Dude is just a mouth piece for whatever his writer's agenda is. His shows are all literally "man with nice voice reads other people's work". Not to defend him the dude is still a walking soyjack, but unless the channel let's him be candid you're never getting his actual take on the matter.

Honestly, I think you are giving them too much credit. I think it really is as Lucas here says:

This is one of the many examples of Democrats wanting to do something like Europe without understanding why it works in Europe and how it doesn’t apply to the U.S.
There is a lot of internal BS about how they only lost because they "failed to get out their message" as a pure example of true cope. This seems to me to be a lazy reuse of the term "Shadow Cabinet" to mean almost none of what it actually means as a shorthand for "Group that espouses our side of the aisle". it is doomed to fail and terribly thought out, but not actually malicious.

To expand, because I asked around a bit. The idea being pushed is that Harris only lost because she failed to expound on the policy and really tell people she had them. This is cope but.... not entirely wrong. I would say it misses the forest for the trees in not realizing that Harris never mentioned policy largely because the internal schisms of the party means no policy is acceptable. Still, understanding this idea makes it easy to understand that the idea of this "Shadow Cabinet" is to take whatever cabinet members of Trump's administration do and to present to the public on the news circuit the "Democrat Alternative" to Republicans. Think less "No they cannot" and more "This is what we would do instead.

Again, I am fine with this... in theory. But what the Democrat's expect from this and the reality are going to be two separate things. First, I expect it to be torn apart from inside as soon as a policy decision comes up that has any sort of internal disagreement. Second, its lack of actual power will leave many involved hungry for more and this would more or less shut it down as soon as someone tries. Third, one of the offshoot hopes is that this helps springboard some new blood into the ranks and give them prominence... which is absolutely going to fail. And Fourth and Final is that this is a minority pushing it rather vocally and it has a lot of pushback for the above reasons.

There will be no solution until everyone over age 75 dies.

No it's just performative nonsense. It's trying to make people think Trump's government will be unserious and illegitimate, the patriotic totally not insane Democrats are taking things so seriously they're blah blah blah
