I remember hearing years ago from a South Korean artist that while pornography is illegal there, the government has their hands in the prostitution industry. Which is why, despite it too being illegal, it is allowed to thrive.

The Democrats went off the rails after 2012 because they thought Obama's re-election meant it was a smooth cruise to the superior future. If the Democrats were still remotely sane, then we'd be welcoming the Kennedys back to the White House and preparing for RFK Jr's first term as president. He's what a modern leftist Democrat looks like when free from the grievance machine and laptop caste that controls the Democrat Party. But Clown World being Clown World, he only gets a spot in the cabinet under Trump's administration.

his 70s and 80s stuff is pretty damn decent, and The Long Walk in particular is an honest to God masterpiece. Although it does say something that the more culturally relevant set pieces came from the film adaptations of his books and not the books themselves (Kurbrick's The Shining, the 70s Carrie, The Shawshank Redemption, Misery, etc.)
