You'd hope that a website as old and as targeted as FurAffinity would have preventative measures about dictionary attacks by now, but the people running it are beyond incompetent and only in it for the clout and the money. My account has been unaffected, but I'm sure as shit strengthening the password after this nonsense.Though, I wouldn't put it past them to have just used a dictionary attack.
I think some of the subsets of furries (latex furs, babyfurs) are there to stay on BlueSky and the more generic/vanilla furries (Majira Strawberry, BetaEtaDelota, Whiskey Dingo, etc.) are going to maintain their Twitter presences. The problem beforehand was not enough gravitated over for them to see any growth or engagement which gives the dopamine which makes social media so enticing. So long as the people who moved over are following each other, interacting with each other's posts, and feeding each other attention, they'll probably stay over there.Looks like the great furry Exodusto Bluesky has begun (again, for the third time).
How long before they come back crawling lol.
That is some prime environmental storytelling.Oh. Well that's horrible I wonder what the last thing he faved wa....
A number of popufur artists have moved as well, partly in response to questions surrounding AI mining of their content. Those are the real movers and shakers because they make the content people want. It's hard to say if they'll all move, but there's a good argument for a split of some kind. It really depends on who monitors their analytics and gauges what it does to diversified revenue streams. Most of them seem like retards with shit monetization but anyone who isn't exclusively doing commissions through twitter is on top of their grift. The popufurs and fursuit makers need to be able to accrue new customers, so it only makes sense that they stay on Twitter. I doubt any furries will give them any trouble over it either, it's all part of playing the game and they realize it.
Looks like there might be more to it. e6 had almost two pages worth of "banned for compromised", which I have never seen as a ban reason before. So much for there being "no data breach" like lolMass wave of furaffinity account got hacked, featuring these two pics uploaded on repeat.

Just goes to show that people still reuse passwords across different websites, and aren't aware of HIBP or DeHashed for breach notifications.^ Hacked account on Deviantart, most likely just someone credential stuffing rather than any actual notable breach of FurAffinity itself. Interestingly, this Ping the Fox guy doesn't seem to be hacked on FurAffinity
Furries are selfish and also aren't smart, they would not do anything useful. You know, if someone was smart they'd hack the abandoned accounts of the open zoophiles that are still there.
Illone Sheppypaws has his account up and i bet there's loads of useful DMs, but instead they hack the site to harrass one person. Classy.
We are aware of the compromised accounts happening on FA and would like to keep the confusion to a minimum. Currently, there is no evidence of a breach on our end but we are still investigating the matter. We believe it's likely an attack using leaked passwords from other non-FA-related breaches where users are using the same passwords.
We always encourage users to use strong passwords and avoid reusing passwords across various sites. Also, we recommend checking https://haveibeenpwned.com/ to see if you've been unknowingly affected by a past breach. If you haven't updated your passwords in a while, it would be beneficial to do so.
We also ask that you not "feed the trolls". If you see an issue please file a ticket to help us look into the matter. Engaging them or the pages they have compromised only makes it worse. If you see suspicious activity please report it here for us https://www.furaffinity.net/control.....roubletickets/
Thank you and we hope to have this resolved as soon as possible.
I wanted to upload something different in community happening and post this on this thread. Fuck me I'm so fucking retarded.Reposting from Community Happenings because @Strangolapreti didn't put a discussion link:
https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1100464 "This is getting interesting, the mods of furaffinity have addressed the hacking, the journal is titled "Addressing the Greg in the room", and it's something visible to any user of the site."

Oh yeah, Cinder is the kind of retard you wanna see join the 72%.furfag janny
"You are banned for having '88' in your name, an obvious Nazi reference. Never unban this scumbag."View attachment 6656263
This is even funnier - looks like furfag janny went just grepped every iteration of nigger and Hitler related phrases and banned users with those in their usernames.
Apparently not.The fuck those degens still use Furaffinity? Wasn't a major hacking incident a solid enough proof that this website has no fucking security measures and its admins have brains the size of a peanut?
Oh, that happens all the time. There is pages upon pages worth of Hitler-referencing usernames being axed.View attachment 6656263
