That slight hint of conflict, where Percy was supposedly unaware of their relationship for his entire life, is completely brushed over as the comic continues to exposit mental illness instead of trying to tell a story.

Also, this supposed "best friend" of Percy's does not give a shit when Percy brushes off the fact that MPD supposedly comes from serious trauma with an "I dunno"... despite the topic being brought up right after he admitted that he has amnesia. There isn't a single panel where this is questioned or fretted over despite these two supposedly being very close and something like trauma being an incredibly dangerous and serious thing to happen to someone you're that close to.


And, of course, the best friend immediately accepts this enormous and insane change to someone he thought he knew deeply without question.

This comic is pure fantasy. I recall a documentary I saw, it had to have been in the very late 80s or early 90s, but it talked about people with multiple personality disorder. They talked about this one young woman that had been abused by her family her whole life. The one story of abuse they talked about was linked to one of her personalities. The doctors called it the dragon because of the noised she would make. It sounded like she drowning. Turns out it was because her older sisters would hanger her upside down and dunk her in a well that was on the property, every time she got near or put in water (like a bath) this personality would come out. That is the kind of trauma that causes MPD and disassociation, not this I have 50 full personalities living in my head like a big frat house. I'll believe dragon lady over Tiktok/tumblr plurals any day.

Just wish I could recall the name of that documentary or whatever it was.

I've seen that fucking type. It's particularly easy to spot here because this so called disorder is neatly organized into the protagonist's head warren without causing too much trouble in life except for one person being shocked by it and immediately getting over it after an explanation that's more at home in a fantasy comic than anything trying to portray real life things.
