Crow Sting remains one of the sickest, most dimes gimmick in all wrestling. Sting hanging from the rafters with the vulture. Coming down to wreck the NWO single handily after months of dominance. Systematically pulling them apart and tormenting them. All without saying a word. It would've been legendary had Hogan not fucked with it.

It's not the Hulkster's fault Stink wouldn't hit the weights or get a tan. He looked genuinely sickly from the alcoholism and it would have damaged the Hulkster's brand to count the lights for him. If Sting wanted that W he should have dealt with his real life issues before dragging them into the ring and making them everyone else's problem.

I think he is a typical indie cosplay wrestler but I respect the hell out of him for his ability to get money and honestly, the character is pretty decent. I just wish he looked like he actually worked out.
I bet he'd be a good manager if you gave him a stable of wacky characters like the Dungeon of Doom.

I'm a Hogan mark, I like Bischoff, but their whole story about Sting having personal issues and being pale is a such a bullshit copout. The root issues at play were WCW were fucking overbooking everything and those retarded "That Doesn't Work For Me" clauses. Could Sting perform in the ring? Was he a draw? Yes, and that was all that should have mattered. Put the man over clean and be done with it, and maybe it helps to change the trajectory of the company. I'm sure there were plenty of champions throughout history, especially in this business, who had demons at the height of their careers but if that was an excuse to not put them over then there's probably a good 20+ year period where there's probably 2 or 3 people who were squeaky clean enough behind the scenes to warrant a reign.

Danhausen posted a woke bitch-fit post on twitter about racists/sexists/etc a few hours ago and it has emerged that he hasn't been in regular contact with anyone in AEW for the past 6 months outside of getting the OK to work indie dates. The guy is clearly in a shit place.

I'll be honest, i'm not a huge fan of TK locking guys down like this. If you have an issue with someone then give them the opportunity to walk away from their contract, you aren't going to use them anyway so it shouldn't matter. Being friends with a guy who fucked you over isn't a good reason to completely kill a workers momentum.

Exactly. Sting still looked just fine. He could still perform just fine in the ring. He was as hot as it gets and should've won clean. He did have a drug problem at the time but so did 98% of professional wrestlers at that time. The "he wasn't in shape or had a tan" was just a cover for Hogan refusing to put him over clean and instead the worst possible ending for that match happened

I hope he kills himself. Very evil, very dead

I love Hogan but dude, you had over a year of build up, everything was perfectly paced, the hype was off the charts, all you had to do was put him over clean, 1-2-3 and print money. Even after 27 years this still kindof gets to me.

I don't even like Sting and this is just wrong.

Count me as someone who hated Crow Sting. Besides being a blatant ripoff of a movie character, it was so bland compared to his dynamic and exciting previous incarnation. Then he stuck with it for the remainder of his career?!? I'm convinced he stayed with it so he could slack at the gym, lol. I get it that the "surfer" Sting would be strange as Steve Borden approached his 40s, but I just couldn't stand Crow Sting.

He tried to work a Joker gimmick after The Dark Knight came out.

I'll take Crow Sting over Joker Sting any day of the week. It was so cringe.
TNA Sting as a whole is kinda cringe. Joker Sting and MEM Steve Borden are some career killing gimmick switches, and if he didnt have so much goodwill as a Legend it would have. To say nothing of his weird on/off partnership with Hogan, which is where the Joker came from. But at least he finally figured out how to work a mic. Only took him 20+ years.

I have two WCW questions I couldn't readily find answers too:

1: how did Goldberg rise up and become a main eventer when Hogan/Bischoff/Sullivan were in control of the booking and didn't want to promote new talent?

2: I get Time Warner/AOL wanted to just dump the company because of the mismanagement of Bischoff and Russo, but why not change the schedule for Nitro Tuesday or any other day? Was this just not an option because of advertisers? Was it a hubris issue and would admit that WWF won the war? Etcetera.

Also, here's maybe a hot take: I think Russo was fully justified shooting on Hogan.

Russo is a complete idiot. I won't deny that. But I think he accidentally had some good ideas. But I thought the shoot was great and needed to be done. Cunts complain "B-b-but the business!" Hogan was part of the reason WCW died, he was killing the business. And why did the cunt decide to leave and file his frivolous lawsuit over "Muh creative control!" Because why? Russo called him bald? Fuck Hogan. That cunt should have died instead of Owen Hart.
