Alex, like most content drivers, drew the attention of Production and the audience alike. They fell back into their old ways of targeting, and pushed him a bit too hard with the wife thing. During Alex's first bout of threatening to leave, Sam seemed genuinely upset he had to beg and negotiate with him and his hog wife to keep him on. I think Jet and Sam probably felt a bit embarrassed about bending over backwards so hard and wanted a little revenge, so they unleashed Wild Randy early. Remember, the on sight announcement said that Frank's first day would be completely calm so he could get to know the Fish. This idea was completely thrown out the window the moment Alex made a show about Sam and Jet begging him to stay. So they unleash the Wild Randy bit. Alex, already coming off of a day in which he was exposed to his shitty family and under the impression the house hated him for willingly letting Binx get eliminated, didn't like this. As a result, he threatens to leave again. This time, Sam has his fun and goes all in on mocking him in ways that go over Alex's head. "Begging" him to stay and saying that "he's the show," all while telling Alex he's being too mean to Frank and that they should make up. Just really hamming it up to fully mog Alex and to turn the tables.
Somehow, the vibes recover and Alex doesn't leave. At this point, I thought Production pulled off the luckiest day in fishtank history since they went hard on their main content driving Fish and somehow kept him. They got to keep their cake and eat it too. I personally thought they'd go a little easier on the Frank stuff for the next few days to let everyone calm down. They were really committed to fixing TJ in season two, so I assumed that after getting their revenge on Alex, they would try and build him up while pissing off his fight wife in the process. I figured this plot line was basically the equivalent of a layup. You get to keep messing with the audiences favorite retard while also getting the moral points by attempting to save him from his insane family. Even if you don't actually save him, it results in more content in the long run. Such an arc would be funny, but have some genuine moments as well. But instead they doubled down and unleashed Frank today as well. Alex, retard that he is, gets caught up in the mess with his "bro" Connor, and they both leave. Sam yells at Alex one more time for good measure to get the last word in, and then he's gone.
I don't understand rehashing the Frank bit so quickly after he was fully utilized yesterday. Nor do I understand why Production would do so much to keep Alex and then seemingly doing a 180 and wanting him out asap. I believe this is yet another example of Production mishandling a situation because of their own ego's.
