just wondering why I’m getting support and love from "evil transphobes who want to kill the mentally ill" and silence and embarrassment from my friends? i’m not a professional.
this is something i've been asking for years, honestly. now more than ever this whole shit-show has proven how completely inept and sociopathic these people are. it's amazing how we can get 10 paragraphs of badly written discourse about the problematic nature of "japis" or whatever the fuck, with
absolutely no trace of irony while they explain in obnoxious detail how a fictional pairing of fictional characters supposedly "affects real-world relationships and sets abusive standards", but the minute some creep-ass fuck pushing 40 with a fancy gender non-conforming label's doing something exactly like that, it's when the call to arms falls flat. nobody wants to hear it.
i think that's what astounds me the most. i added a post to my blog's queue a couple days ago of a fake call-out post written by a hated user's "transgender sister" being raped by the user in question (
EDIT: it pushed through the queue), and the whole site flew into a fuckin' meltdown of Shmorky Twitter feed proportions after
taking it completely at face value with no evidence because the SJW side of tumblr loathed his existence with a passion (the call-out post was eventually revealed as being a hoax by someone pointing out this behaviour). but the second Shmorky's the one called out with
ninety-fucking-one pages of evidence, with the majority of it gleefully provided by Shmorky himself? "oh sorry i want to believe it but i don't like the words these people use so i'm just gonna ignore it lololol." the punchline is the one jack-off even
admitting on twitter that they usually take something at face value otherwise! fuckin' incredible, dude.
i think it has a lot to do with cognitive dissonance as a whole, where people just like to pretend they're actually supportive and on the ball with this shit but then completely lock up and have no clue how to move forward when their dream-world crumbles around them. they especially have no clue how to process the fact that someone with a minority label can somehow do wrong, even though the LGBT+ movement has been
asserting their humanity for years and
doing stupid shit is pretty much the definition of being human. they'd rather delude themselves into thinking "i like Shmorky's art, and i therefore like Shmorky, which means Shmorky can't be a bad person, because liking a bad person makes
me a bad person." people are funny that way.
similarily though, that's why this forum and its users was your best bet. they don't need to "prove" with children's shows or fancy pronouns that they're good people. some of them could very well not be, but humanity is also about being contrarian and complex (aka understanding that good people can do bad things, and bad people can do good things). they don't waste time with a veneer. they don't need to. this is what tumblr hates the most, because they cannot grasp the concept of their identity as a good person being tangible without the right words or the fluffiest subject matter to reaffirm said identity ("liking good things means i'm a good person"). they surround themselves with things that make them appear good instead of
actually being good people and doing the right thing.
anyway i'll quit boring you all with pseudo-intellectual psychobabble over the internet, lol. i've been angry about this sort of thing happening for years, and i've just been too terrified to speak out about it 'til now. it's nice to see that there's actual humanity left - real, non-fabricated humanity, not a pretty substitute made out of a Steven Universe pastel colour palette and some cheap glitter. thanks for doing what i've been afraid to do, guys.
