That's nonsense. Depending on location welders and plumbers are making near 6-figures right out of their apprenticeships. The sky is the limit. I know a 25yo welder that started right after high school and he's pulling $120k/yr and already has rental properties. His peers are graduating college 6-figures in debt with no job prospects. The other thing about trade educations is you usually get paid during instead of going into debt with student loans.
I like how you go with the extreme cases (welding is the highest paid of all the trades, and 6 figure college debt is not even close to normal, it's fancy private school shit) to dance around my "most" qualifications.

Plumbers make the same, I'm just personally familiar with welding and there's basically an unlimited demand for them. Equipment operator is another. A good operator who can pass a drug test can name their own price.

Thing is you might get dirty and you can't surf KiwiFarms all day. Much easier to sit and complain than make those sacrifices for six figures.

didn't we have the same problem with milk?, the dairy industry managed to convince (lobby) the feds to massively overproduce milk via subsidies, way more than the domestic rate of consumption, to the point the government had to convert it all into cheese and do a psyop of making americans consume more dairy products.

I don't know about milk, but at least it is more useful than corn and more healthy.

It wasn't so much a psy-op unless I'm thinking of something else and I could be half remembering the actual context, but I believe they literally had to just make bunker and cave loads of what was later dubbed government cheese to offload it in ration batches on the poor as a perceived nice gesture and a slightly disguised move of "Take our shit, we don't know what to do with it all".

What grocery stores in America are 90% fresh foods?
Look for a Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods near you. Unless you can find a local farmer’s market on Facebook or something, most local grocery stores stock the same slop as Walmart just marked up.

I’m surprised Amazon hasn’t totally destroyed Whole Foods after buying them out, they actually improved them slightly by introducing a ton of discounts if you have a Prime membership.

Another one was when he explained to her the vast cultural background of the food he eats. "Tonight I'm having a curry from India, last night I had an Italian pasta, tomorrow I will have a Turkish kebab..."
It's so weird this one became a meme, because it doesn't even make sense. Pajeet doesnt have a copyright on cardamom and coriander. It's perfectly possible to make a tasty, authentic pot of butter chicken, *and* be white at the same time. It actually makes me wonder if there is a federal source of this bullshit.

When thailand got their independence, one of the initiatives that the new government came up with to increase their standing in the world, was this concept of "gastrodiplomacy". The thai government pays thai people to go abroad and open thai restaurants which are patterned on a government-approved menu, with the hopes that it will have a propagandistic effect internationally. They have different menus for different price points, so whether its a hole in the wall takeout, or upscale, theres a good chance that that thai place only really exists because its literally subsidized from the other side of the world. Thats why these places all have the exact same menu. (Note: there are roughly as many Ethiopians in America as there are Thai people, but when's the last time you saw an Ethiopian restaurant?)

It sounds goofy but its been done at scale before so it wouldnt surprise me if the whole "well you like that taco truck, who is going to make your tacos de lengua if you deport Miguel?" had similar origins

It turns out Captain Kirk is not as based as we may have assumed.
Why isn’t [Kamala] a great candidate? She combined several trends of thought here. Black, woman–.
I don’t know why the Democrats lost. I don’t understand … Prices have come down, the economy is good. I don’t know why they voted against her, against the party.”

IS RFK Jr going to do anything about the nutrient deficiencies in our produce due to the loss of our fertile top soil?
November 6, 2024 — Breaking news for the ardent followers of the modern homesteading movement was announced late on Wednesday afternoon. Joel Salatin, the self-described “Christian libertarian environmentalist capitalist lunatic farmer” has received an appointment by congressman Thomas Massie from Kentucky to be an “Advisor to the Secretary” to the USDA, a key influence inside
