General Wrestling Discussion

I have enjoyed Bron Breakker's booking, but I don't believe his credibility as a champion by being fed these mid-carders. I also don't buy Ludwig fucking Kaiser taking him out with a simple clothesline that leaves him on the floor catching his breath. Ludwig could be a credible champion if he beats Breakker, but is Breakker in a better or worse position if he beats Ludwig? I'd argue it would be worse. Should have had Breakker go over in the match with a post-match attack/celebration disruption by Kaiser.

He was so over he didn't need to do that. Nobody watched WCW to see Goldberg have 30 minute matches. That's not why they liked him.
You can say this but it doesn't really change that you can't just be undefeated forever if you're gimmick can only work if your never lose or look weak ever no matter what it's going to hit a wall especially of you're incredibly limited when it's time for the actual matches as shitty as the way they ended the streak was i honestly think fans would have eventually started turning on goldberg as much h as he was a fotc tier face I doubt they could keep the gimmick interesting for the years it would take to groom a replacement

they are slowly pushing Breakker, im honestly ok with that, the angle was a bit weird though tonight, I think he retains against Kaiser, he probably stays IC Champ for awhile before moving onto the Main Event scene.

A funny but in Spanish:

Translation: Doctor Polo, my cousin Roman Reigns won't acknowledge me.

Who's Dr. Polo? Think the Judge Judy show but in Spanish.

and Bischoff, who had been struggling to find a main event worthy of said stadium show episode of Nitro and who knew that Hogan was a fickle, selfish lout who might change his mind, moved heaven and Earth to get the match set up and forgo all build-up one might normally have let alone doing it on a PPV, because he needed a big rating and more to the point, to get Hogan to do the clean job ASAP before he changed his mind or worse, Kevin Nash convinced him to change his mind.
This giant rape victim always seems to pop up in any given story that happened fifteen to thirty years ago. A part of me always wonders how, since everything from Diesel to a bloated nWo is mostly his doing. Even when Kevin is quarantined to his little kwab zone and doing nothing, he will just brag about how he's robbing you. Did anyone ever figure out how this guy kept getting work?

I hate hate hate what they’re doing with Gunther. Gunther is great because he’s not a typical cowardly heel. He doesn’t run away from the face, he doesn’t kick the face in the balls, etc.
He’s a big arrogant Aryan who caves motherfuckers chests in. Bisexual Rican Undertaker is not on his level.
Foreign heel vs foreign heel/face, at least it’s not more fucking Samoans.
Priest is an example of a heel getting treated like a face for a storyline.
They have complimentary ring styles, like Priest relying on power and Gunther being a chopping machine and submission specialist.
Plus they’re both tall, but have completely different builds.

I’m sure they’re saving Gunther vs Cody for Wrestlemania which is going to be kino.

It’s infinitely worse.
like Priest relying on power
Gunther is more of a Power Wrestler. Priest is….Bleh.

What? That’s retarded. Priest has been a face since SummerSlam. Tf you talking about.

That makes zero sense. Gunther is not losing the belt anytime soon and neither is Cody. Priest was a charisma vacuum as champion and should not be in the main event scene. Not yet at least. Why do you think he lost the belt 4 months after winning it? He didn’t work as champ, at all.
Why would they run back champ vs champ so quickly?
If Gunther is losing at mania, it’s to Big Match John for title 17. Nobody else.

Has Bullet Club reached the fatigue stage that the nWo was in by the late 1990s? I caught the results of New Japan's latest event on a wrestling news site and read that former World champion, Sanada, turned on the faction he was leading to join BC.

House of Torture, the sub-group of Bullet Club is somewhat popular in Japan. However as an international viewer, they come across more like comedy heels. Basically on par with Judgement Day per and post-cash in. A lot of the group lacks credibility and mostly works within the NEVER divisions now, especially the thin-as-fuck Junior Tag and NEVER Six Man tag divisions. Most Western inclusions have either left, are leaving or got injured the past two or so years. It's just a tainted brand.

But they aren't the only problem. Most factions in New Japan haven't changed or dissolved in over five years. TMDK and United Empire felt like a viable shake up, but even than they become second fiddle to Chaos when either is aligned as face.

I was watching WrestlingBio's "Reliving The War" series the other day where he reviews the entire timeline of the Monday Night War across hundreds of videos, and I noticed something that bugged the shit out of me: Ric Flair really does not look good with anything but his signature long 1970's hair. He cut it short and shaved the back of it for his feud with NWO and he legitimately looked like one of those little yorkie dogs who had just returned from the dog groomer lol

Bullet Club in NJPW died a death once all of their major guys went stateside to either AEW or WWE.

The faction is sort of a vague thing that guys will reference every now and then but when the main guys involved at the moment are EVIL and Chase Owens it sort of falls flat.

Maybe Kenta should have been pushed as the group leader since he's touted as a big deal that WWE dropped the ball with.

And in sad news, Rey Mysterio revealed that his dad passed away this past Sunday.

tbf that was a hairstyle back then, even if it's one that didn't age well
