Fructose gets broken down into sucrose and glucose. Sucrose is just bad for you. Doesn't matter if you're getting it from cane sugar directly or breaking down fructose. What HFCS does is allow us to produce sugar cheaply and at insane scales. Without it, you wouldn't have free unlimited refills at McDonald's or be able to buy a half liter bottle at the gas station for a couple bucks.
The issue with High Frutose Corn Syrup is that Fructose gets stored as LDL fat more easily in the liver. Per every 2 Fructose molecules you get 3x the amount of energy you’d get from glucose, but you don’t really need that energy. I forget which step gets you more energy, if might be a pyruvate.

There’s a lot of discussion on if Fructose is cytotoxic. The intermediates also might cause ROS to form and harm the liver, too. I at some point had like a 10 page paper on this shit.

Trump forgives. Like Jesus.
Actually it's more like Trump forgives... like Caesar. Both are attempting magnamity, and there are ups and downs to it. On the upside, it's very hard to call someone who turns the other cheek a tyrant. On the other hand, sometimes you get shanked before the senate.

The original poster set off my biochem autism.

This is backwards.

Sucrose is made of Fructose and Glucose. Glucose is turned into fructose by Glucose-6-phosphate isomerase after it's turned into glucose-6-phosphate by your cells during glycolysis.

Nobody here should be expected to be a pre-med to talk about health, but a little bit of basic research would help us meaningfully discuss it all.

The glucose made from conversion of corn starch (we have a lot of this) is partially isomerized into fructose (which your cells make from glucose, and they have to, for life to work, this isn't optional) because fructose is sweeter than glucose.

Sucrose certainly tastes a hell of a lot better than either and we don't need to have shit tons of shitty sugars everywhere, and it isn't your fault schools suck, but this is something we can look up here and now.

OK, Sneed, what's the deal with Fructose vs Glucose?

Glucose is used for energy by every cell in your body. Fructose is metabolized almost exclusively by your liver.

THAT is the problem with high fructose HFCS instead of the 50/50 that sucrose is.

At this point, unironically, the funniest outcome is Trump either dies in office or just when he gets out.

Cause they will try to bring sll the lawfare back the second he is out.
Unlikely. All the lawfare was to stop him getting in, and that failed. There's no real point in going after him once he leaves office because he'll be out for good. All it would do is waste resources (which they might not even have at that point), and rile up MAGA supporters for the next election. Sure the crazies with TDS would love it, but that isn't enough of a justification at that point.

The smart thing to do would be to stop the lawfare and prepare for 2028, but we will see what the Democrats do. Some appear poised to push the lawfare shit while others want to move on.

Wouldn't it be funny if the new House decided to vote on the bills to stack the Supreme Court?
Would be funny as all hell, but would have the chance of backfiring. The "norms" are what we have now, they haven't been really changed in nearly a 100 years (iirc). One you start fuckign with it, the next admin could easily change it again. I'm not sure if it would be funnier to change it to 13, or if it will be funnier when over half of the court will be Trump's picks. Funnier still, if the republicans hold the presidency, and things break right it could be a fully right leaning court.

Counter point, commies are not smart and can be very, very bitter.
