Is there a word for someone temporarily taking on speech patterns of who they're currently talking to like that? To Chibi's credit, I do see that often in normal people also, it happens to me sometimes when talking to foforeigners.

Yeah it is code switching, but normally that's something people do subconsciously for stuff like regional accents. Like if you grew up in the country but moved to the city later in life, whenever you get together with old friends you slip back into that way of speaking.

In Chibi's case it seems like it's an affectation he does deliberately to fit in with whatever crowd he's trying to appeal to, which is extremely gay and very sad.
