The funny thing is that they could have pulled it off well with Finn, the black stormtrooper and they almost did. That would have taken away from Kathleen Kennedy's self-insert Rey though so that shit was nipped in the bud.

What else is she going to do, help run the country? She'd do more harm than good. Besides, repeatedly humiliating herself on the national stage for four months straight must have taken its toll. Every report we got from inside her campaign indicated that post-debate she had reached her limit and cracked under the pressure.

If she's smart she'll spend the rest of her life grifting off the fact that she was the first woman of color to occupy the office of the vice president, because she's clearly not cut out for higher office. Better start writing those memoirs and giving those speeches at college campuses.

She has be careful even doing that, as she has had fuck ups in the office of VP. Record inflation, rent rises, wars, Afghan pull out, COVID lockdowns and the resulting hysteria. All under her watch. Biden gets a get out of jail free card with the mental decline excuse. She is the face of all that. As they positioned her as the true power behind Biden during her campaign. Unless the GOP writ large gets on board with Trump's agenda in a serious way beyond namedropping the guy it absolutely will not translate into downballot success. They have to purge the neocon bullshit and start scrutinizing how much we really need to be involved in these perpetual foreign engagements. As long as we have pricks like Thune and Cornyn, who will flex about his expensive steak dinner while voting down more stimulus checks(not that the checks did dick, but the optics were absolute shit), the GOP will have a serious branding problem which Trump by himself cannot fix.
JD Vance gives me a bit of hope though. He's a career politician who also has a salient understanding of what people like about Trumpism and why they want it. If anyone's going to get through the downballot GOP's collective thick skulls it'll be him.
