Tests can tell if it is being taken as prescribed or if it’s being abused. In general, phenibut abuse is a surprisingly effective way to fuck yourself over. Mixing it with stimulants is also a mistake, but it's an easy one to make since it kills the anxiety and enhances the euphoriant effects from the stimulants (which also make it easier to take high doses of phenibut without immediately passing out). Then the next day after a stim/phen/whiskey binge, taking more of it can dull the awful mix of hangover and comedown, so you're likely to end up in a haze where you're nauseous as hell and about to pass out, but at least you can feel something other than shame and a sense of impending doom.

You have to have a decent degree of self-control not to lapse into using it too regularly, which Balldo absolutely does not. Once you go down that road, the hangover from mixing it with alcohol is the least of your concerns, because the withdrawals are godawful for a drug that isn't even particularly fun on its own.
