Has Trump come out (lol) with any plans for how to disentangle the Ukraine FP fuckup?

I'm pretty confident that had Kamala "won" she would have pushed this to the brink and well past it. So, at least that's not a factor here. Thank God.

Assuming Putin is domestically in a corner and has to win or he's dead anyway, and that because of sanctions his successors and the oligarchs don't have access to frozen or seized assets, Putin's behavior makes a bit more sense.

We know the Biden admin was full retard so whatever. We know we are run by idiots. We know Trump isn't ideological and has more leeway in how to think and act. We know Trump wants a deal. The issue is, what can he do?

1) Trump bullies everyone into east/west Ukraine or something by another name to the same effect.
2) Trump does the same but Ukraine is a single buffer state.
3) Trump rolls back some of the sanctions, especially the SWIFT ban, and gives people some personal off-ramps for their wealth and power. Red lines might move closer to negotiated settlements. He still probably has to bully Zelenskyy into this.

All of these have the potential problems of "Russia can do shit again later" and "Zelenskyy might say fuck you" and "Europe might do whatever." There's also the fact that Putin will eventually die and it will likely be someone that would make him look moderate.

Trump can withhold American aid, which would make Europe eventually stop giving it as well, but that could fuck us over in our standing with our allies, and it means Ukraine goes down swinging over the course it takes to deplete their arms. The Budapest Memorandum would finally become completely worthless, and our word would be even worse than it is now. Putin doesn't just get Ukraine, America's also made out to be completely untrustworthy, but the world goes on. Clearly Trump has his hands full with not taking a huge L.

tl;dr Trump has to spin a lot of plates, or Ukraine could blow up in his face like Afghanistan did. The irony that he did it right and Biden fucked it up, but Biden fucked up and now Trump has to fix it isn't lost on me.

The USA has a lot of reasons to not just drop Ukraine in a bad way. Putin has potentially existential reasons to see this through to the end. If anyone can come up with some way to make everyone equally unhappy but wrap this shit up, it's Trump, but I really don't know what the fuck there is to do.

The wildcard would be he drops the trade war and goes to Xi and asks for a partnership. That might work. Coincidentally, China has started issuing bonds in USD. Lol. Huh. China doesn't want the USA to go away at least.

FIIK. Anyone got any ideas?

Trump has an incentive to use the Senate for confirmation as it makes the appointment permanent. That’s not an obligation.

Genuinely tragic and pointless death. But the fact the dude was man enough to literally take a bullet to save his daughter says more about his character than anything. I don’t think he’ll be forgotten any time soon
