Marriage is between whatever two suckers decide that a verbal contract with G-d is the way to deal with household business, in the future. Civil Union is the same contract, but the government hypothetically protects both parties from being screwed if the union dissolves.

It's not a real thing, it's the law saying something which contradicts reality.

Marriage is between a man and a woman, period. Not with same sex people, animals, kids, groups of people, or inanimate objects--only between one man and one woman.

In nature there is no marriage. Marriage is an idea humans came up with, nothing more.

Human culture is part of nature, what do you even think nature means? Natural behavior is nature, non-Christian civilizations often paired the same way, even some animals mate for life.

Mating for life isn’t marriage though, marriage is a social construct and legal concept.
