With all the statements from the Democrats politicians and mayors, here is an absurd thought. What if a civil war in the USA breaks out because liberal states refuse to comply with calls from the federal government to deport illegal immigrants?

The federal government has all sorts of funding trickery at its disposal to force states to comply - the Dems use this power routinely to further their platform while the GOP seems to only be able to use it for dumb shit like a universal drinking age.
One of the more interesting ideas I’ve read lately was that Trump should deny all foreign student visas to #Resist states. Cuts off a giant source of funding for lib universities (always a good thing), creates external and internal pressure, and slots nicely into a framing of “let’s all follow the immigration rules”. And it can be done with the stroke of a pen, not physical force.

Define pop culture? There is some modernist literature that provides a really interesting parallels to current day, especially if you learn about the writers themselves and the culture/micro-culture they were producing their 'art' within. The more you dig into, it's almost head spinning to see the similarities and really fucking depressing to see how utterly celebrated some of that work still is considering that it was part of a really harmful ideology that despite the massive backlash it generated, managed to survive and is at the root of what's infecting us today.

I think it's the modern version of citing Greek myths and other allusions to classical culture that writers did a century ago. Moviebob made a great point that Marvel and Star Wars are a mythology to our society. He is sadly correct, since our society really is that vapid.
